Safari Rally Driver Maxine Wahome Declared Fit to Stand Trial for Boyfriend’s Murder

A mental test conducted on Safari Rally driver Maxine Wahome on Tuesday has determined she is fit to stand murder trial.

Wahome will take a plea on Wednesday over the death of her late boyfriend and fellow rally driver Asad Khan. She is set to answer to one count of murder before the High Court in Milimani.

The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji recommended the murder charge after reviewing Wahome’s case file and was satisfied with the evidence presented to support it.

Last week, Milimani senior principal magistrate Bernard Ochoi granted an application by the prosecution to have the accused detained at Kilimani police station to undergo a mental examination pending the murder charges.

Khan died on December 18th, 2022, while receiving treatment at Avenue Hospital after he was allegedly assaulted by his girlfriend at his apartment in Nairobi’s Kilimani estate on December 12th.

The rally driver had initially been admitted to the Nairobi Hospital’s High Dependency Unit (HDU) with serious deep cuts on the right ankle.

  1. Cmon guys, you don’t really…
Cmon guys, you don’t really believe she killed him? That guy had an accident chasing her around the living room, he got cut by a glass shard and severed a vein. She’s a hot chick and she screws blokes that she fancies, not her boring rally partner, but SHE DIDN’T kill him. Wait for the verdict, she’ll walk.
