Ugandan MP Goes Missing After Boarding an Uber Taxi in Nairobi

Police in Nairobi are investigating the mysterious disappearance of Ugandan Member of Parliament David Wakikona, according to a report.

Wakinona, who is the MP for Bukigai County in Bududa District, was reported missing after boarding an Uber taxi from Kilimani to Nairobi Central Business District (CBD), Ugandan publication Daily Monitor reported.

“Mr Wakikona had checked in at Samura Court along Argwings Kodhek road on October 3, 2022, together with his colleagues and his whereabouts remain unknown,” a report filed at Kilimani police station reads as quoted by Daily Monitor.

The report was filed by Talibet Kibet, who was accompanied by Emmanuel Opio.

Police said the 72-year-old MP was picked up by a cab registration number KCS 466G which was being driven by Robert Wang’ombe.

He is said to have asked the security guard manning the entrance to Samura Court to hail an Uber taxi on his behalf and his destination was Tom Mboya Street in the city centre. It is not clear whether the MP arrived at his destination.

Wakikona was in the company of his colleagues Abdi Kisos, John Ngoya, Paul Busiro and Ugandan National Assembly Clerk Opio Emmanuel at Samura Court before boarding the Taxi.
