Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has offered to pay school fees for a 13-year-old Kenyan girl who threatened to commit suicide as her parents are unable to finance her secondary school education.
The teenager sat for her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exam this year at Xaverian Primary School in Kisumu Central and scored 391 marks out of the possible 500. She was selected to join Asumbi Girls in early January 2020 but she wrote a suicide note after realizing her parents could not raise the KSh.53,544 fee required for the year.
“I know it is not the only way to solve this problem, but it is the best option for me to take,” read the suicide note.
The girl’s mother, Lucy Emily Ombok said her daughter appeared troubled since the KCPE results were released. In a Facebook post on Saturday, MP Owino vowed to ensure the girl achieves her dreams.
“I will pay school fees for this leaner to ensure she achieves her dreams. A child belongs to the community and I would like to give an opportunity to others the same way I was given through fundraising and through selling Chang’aa. Vanity is Vanity,” wrote Owino.
I salute Babu for taking…
I salute Babu for taking this option to help out!
The bigger problem in all this is the inherent corruption going on in Kenya. Imagine what the 21 billion shillings in the hands of DP Ruto could have done in reducing tuition, room and board of these deserving kids? And how about the 64 billion shillings that Rotich is feasting upon?
I say, “I” in support of the lifestyle audit, starting with the DP, for accountability purposes. Kama Mbaya, Mbaya!
Every thing in your mind is…
Every thing in your mind is dp style up and ruto will be president. Otherwise good heart babu
wise decision by Hon. Babu…
wise decision by Hon. Babu. Some rich people can not figure out such an environment. I wonder where are these so called MPs, MCAs, and the so called county CSs. Kudos Honorable Babu Owino
Despite your theatrics,I see…
Despite your theatrics,I see you have agood heart. Few weeks ago you rescued your long lost friend,and now this.Yes you are working for the people. Keep it up if you can. You might just win some of these greedy Mpigs on your side…
God bless you Babu for…
God bless you Babu for taking responsibility…
God bless the work of your hand abundantly
I warmly congratulate Hon…
I warmly congratulate Hon.Babu Owino for his generosity by supporting the needy girl from Kisumu. l also sat for K. C. P. E exam at Chrisco School in Migori county and was able to score 413 marks out of 500 marks. l was selected to join Kisii school. During my primary education l was sponsored by the school but it is unable to proceed beyond primary level. I have tried a number of scholarships but so far I have not succeed and time is running out. I therefore humbly request anyone to extend his /her helping hand to me and help me get to Kisii school,since my parents are unable to pay my fees. (My index number is 44707262006)
Is there a way to verify if…
Is there a way to verify if this is true before we send our donations?
@kenya – Very good question!…
@kenya – Very good question! I have been investigating this request since yesterday. I have called the father’s tel# severally but no body has picked up the phone. I have called Kisii High School but o one is about there to answer any questions. I want to authenticate Evans Odhuambo’s story before taking any action to help.
I tried to reach Kisii School Principal, Casper Maina Momanyi, but he has been transferred to Nairobi High School.
I got a few details about this school – one year school fees is roughly Kshs 76,000.00. The school seems to perform well. A goops number of current politicians to include Dr Matiang’i are former students there. The school ha a goodFootball programmer.
But there are a number of discipline issues which concerned me. Eight pupils were arrested on 11 July 2018 for arson and destruction of school property. A few teachers attacked other teachers there to refusing to join the teachers strike. I’m all about good discipline and I’m somehow nervous about Evans joining this school.
Other criteria for a pupil to be admitted in Kissi school is the parents income among others. Does a needy student get a tuition break?
Now Evans scores 413/500!l on KCPE. The average student admitted at Alliance High School scores 432/500 points. How come Evans did not get admitted there? There are other High Schools – eg Maseno, Kagumo, Lenana, etc that Evans could attend.
I hear crooked politicians justifying how many eggs the DP sold as a cover up individual corruption while kids are going without school fees and other basic necessities.
Others are wasting time outing motions in the Senate to help stealing governors from prosecution. How did Kenya politicians really stoop this low?
Hello Evans Odhiambo!…
Hello Evans Odhiambo! Congratulations for a job well done in your CPE examination result!
I have just read your message regarding your desire to join Kisii High School. As a Kenyan, reading your congratulatory message to Hon Babu Owino really touched the depth of my heart. I can feel your hearty need to continue with education. Please stay hopeful because only God can do what man cannot do!! He will generously fulfill the desires of your heart, my little Brother!
I am aware that Hon Babu Owino is a very kind man. His leadership as an MP is based on tangible actions; especially in a country where most politicians never do anything to help others. He is an MP per excellence because he has personally experienced the kind of situation that you are presently entangled in.
Through his willingness to help the female pupil, he has set a very enviable example for me and others to emulate. Babu has rekindled my desire to do something to help you. I want to help you to attain your education dream goals.
Education will open doors for you and your future! It is a must “gift” to have for any deserving young boy and/or girl. The future of Kenya solely relies on educating our youth no matter where you come from. Kisumu ni Kenya ndani!!
Does your father speak English! I don’t speak Dholuo but we can figure a way to communicate once we establish some sort of contact.
Please tell your father that I will call him tomorrow ( Monday afternoon) to discuss a few things! When are you required to report to Kisii High School?
Thank you!
Maina.

@ Evans Odhiambo, I…
@ Evans Odhiambo, I congratulate you for your good grades that Iam sure you earned through hard work and perseverance given your status in life thus far.It touches my heart to see hardworking students like you being frustrated for luck of school fees,when there should be an avenue to help people like you.If I had away/power people like you would go to school for free,and later return the favor to society by being productive.
I do not see why Kenyans collectively cannot foot your education till you go as far as you can. Your success is Kenya’s success.
I do not know you but,Iam willing to donate to some fund you might create.I wish you the very best. And if your representative has seen your grades,and done nothing to help, shame on him or her.I dont tell people how to spend their hard earned money,but there are alot of big shots in Kenya who waste money on useless things like chasing women left and wright,drinking, showing,off and just being wasteful. If only they could be touched,and send you just 10% of what they “waste” you would be in good shape fees wise. I challenge them to do so,in the spirit of helping the needy. It is the responsibility of the society if the parents,or relatives cannnot afford.Again, I wish you the best,and Iam looking forward to donating to your education through a bona fide source…
Hello @Maxiley – I would…
Hello @Maxiley – I would like to help this young boy with his school fees too. Can we get in touch with the Kisi High School Head Teacher to establish the validity of Odhuambo’s CPE results? How much money is required for his tuition, room and board? Maxi let- how can you and I connect!?
MP Babu – would you be willing to coordinate the payment of Odhiambo’s school fees payment to make sure everything is done properly and timely? I am stepping in to help this boy because he is crying for help and his CPE scores are impressive!
I want everything to be open and transparent! I also want to see his CPE results.
Please let us all connect to help a needy child, a future leader of a country we all love!
Thank you guys!
@Maina,thanks for willing to…
@Maina,thanks for willing to help out.Please update me on how far you have gone in authenticating the requirements, and we,and iam sure other well wishers can team up and help this bright young man
@ Maxiley – I just managed…
@ Maxiley – I just managed to speak to a Mr Odhiambo in Kisumu. We talked very briefly because the network was terrible. He identified the boy as Evans Onyango Odhiambo.
I will continue to investigate this matter until we can we can make sure we are dealing with a genuine case as we attempt to help a needy child.
I would also like to know the reason he was accepted for admission in Kisii School with such high KCPE result points.
If the case is genuine, I am ready to execute! Are you?
I will require the School to set up a special trust fund account where money can be deposited and someone is managing the account. There will be no money going through individual hands. We do not need to be conned!
I will also set a criteria for the boy and the parents to meet to make sure discipline is enforced.
I will be checking again with Kisii High School again tomorrow to make sure the boy will be enrolled there for school.
I will try to reach the father again later today; hopefully communication will be better there.
I will update you as we go along!!
Thanks @ Maina .Please do…
Thanks @ Maina .Please do follow up,and keep us will to help informed.
I dont know how long you have been on Mwakilishi forum.But afew year ago,there was an issue pretty close to this one,and I remember me and along time commentetor-Washington Osiro were planning to help only to find out that all was some kind of scam.
Yes please confirm that we are not going to be taken for aride.
@maxiley – I am very excited…
@maxiley – I am very excited to inform you that I had a length discussion with Mr. Odhiambo, the father to Evans Onyango Odhiambo, the young ambitious pupil who score 413 in KCPE. @elizabeth, here we go…
I had a special chance to talk to Evans himself. We all talked for about 1 1/2 hours on a long distance SATCOM secure line. We all clicked like I new them for a long time. May God’s love, grace and kindness hover in their midst and abundantly provide to this wonderful family!
Here are some details to anyone who would be interested to help Evans Odhiambo: The boy is 13 years old. a very intelligent young man to talk with. The father sounded to be talking from the death of his heart.
Evans comes from a family of five – himself, two sisters and the father and their dear mother. He is in-between the two sisters by birth. The older sister is a Form 2 student at a local secondary school Wiser secondary school in Migori. The father is a Bonda Bonda operator in Migori area, while the mother is a stay home Mom taking the biggest responsibility of the family. Neither of the parents had a chance to attend secondary school education. The father told me that Evans is a very hard working boy. He ranked number 25 is some Essay writing competition in the Nation.
Here is the bottom line: Before Evans sat for KCPE, he selected Starehe, Maranda, Lenana, and Kisii High schools as his choices. His desire was to go to Starehe or Lenana to study Civil Engineering, study to become a medical doctor or Aviation Engineering. Evans is very good Football player and he hopes to earn some kind of scholarship playing for the school.
Kisii high School, the last school he chose have now admitted him. methink, he would have liked to join either Starehe or Lenana – where his real desire was. And, I would like to know if anyone can help him get into one of his original the two school choices -413 points can take this boy any where.
As it stands now, Evans is supposed to report to Kisii School on the morning of 13 January 2020. The school requires Kshs 53,544.00 deposited at an account in Equity Bank, Kisii Branch. The account number is 0510261438417. The amount will cater for room, dormitory boarding and three meals a day plus education for one academic year. I have told the boy and the parents to get him ready for Evans to report to school on the fore-mentioned date.
The school Uniform requires an additional Kshs 6,400.00. This money will need to be paid upon arrive on 13 January 2020.
The new Principal at Kisii High School is a Mr. Moris Ogutu. I will call him to confirm everything I discussed with Evans and his father, although I do not have his tel# as we speak.
Anyone who may be interested to chip in to help Evans, this is the latest information I have as you can do as you wish.
One thing I noticed is the fact that the boy was crying as I told him what I was about to do for him. I told him not to worry because it is only God who can do, what we men refuse to do or cannot do! I told him that God is shining on his face today and everything will be well, in Jesus name!
Good Job Maina. PLease…
Good Job Maina. PLease confirm with Mr.Moris Ogutu. Iam ready to pay my part. Again thanks for taking time to follow up. This is the spirit that will build Kenya.
@maxiley – I don’t make…
@maxiley – I don’t make promises that I cannot fulfill. I’m not interested in the politics of getting the glory by talking garbage without actions.
We are all one people and we are all Kenyans. If it takes only myself to help a frustrated child, I will do it to make the child know life has a sweet spot, and the light at the end of the tunnel only glows brighter. I also want to let Evans know that one can serve humanity without being a politician.
Our country need a deep soul searching and a significant change of heart when it come to doing what is right! We need a real renewal where we put others first – especially the needy!
Our country has been squandered long enough, and we are the generation to stand up firmly and redirect our efforts to doing good things.
As Kenyans, we do have to rethink the direction we are taking the youth and how their future will turn out to be.
That is the reason why I vehemently condemn corruption because it is tearing the good fabric of our society!
Our economic, social, educational, family, etc foundations are getting decimated by the rampant corruption and theft of resources.
The corruption evil must be killed for us to rebuild the essential foundations of our country for our youth – the future leaders of our country.
@maxiley – please hold up…
@maxiley – please hold up making any payment until I confirm this account – I do know several people who work for Equity Bank and they are helping authenticate the account. Thank you for your consistence in this pursuit! I will update you as soon as everything is confirmed!
@maxiley – I’m all too…
@maxiley – I’m all too familiar with scams of this nature. I have been scammed a couple of times but that alone can’t keep us from helping a needy child. A child belongs to all of us – the village/ country!
As I told you earlier, I had a long productive talk with both the son and the father. I do not think they are out there to scan any body. If they scam me of $600.00, it is there problem and not mine – my blessings will keep coming and I will continue to praise my Heavenly Father for all He has done for me. Money is just a means of performing transactions – and that is how life is.
But I will dig dipper by calling Principal Ogutu to verify some more details. I am also in contact with some friends to see if it is possible for the boy to move to Lenana or Starehe, where he originally wanted to go! If that does not work Kisii school will be ok.
I’m also trying to get hold of his area MP Peter Masara to see if a few CDF shillings can be applied here. But as you know, the Kenyan waheshimiwa’s tend to think they are larger than life and rarely ever reply or calls the needy once they get to the August House! Wanakuwa wandosi Halisi, and the rest is history.
I really thank Babu Owino…
I really thank Babu Owino for what he has done may God reward you abundantly mheshimiwa
Congratulations hon babu…
Congratulations hon babu owino,for helping the needy chirld.
I wish to connect with Main…
I wish to connect with Main a and Maxwell to assist this boy, Evans odhiambo
@elizabeth- I finally…
@elizabeth- I finally managed to briefly talk to the boy’s father, a Mr Odhiambo. Communication was terrible! I will try to get hold of him again this evening to get to the bottom of this needy boy.
I am also trying to get in touch with the Principal of Kisii High School to check if the index number he provided is legitimate.
If it is, I will request them to establish a trust fund account where money can be sent with clear receipt statements provided by the school. The school fees are about Kshs 76,000.00; and maybe plus other general expenses per year! We all want to do this in an open and transparent manner.
Personally, I’m ready to help this boy to make a difference in his life. I would also like to talk to his are MP to discuss how he can benefit from the CDF money allocated to his constituency as we move forward. It would also be good to talk to the Headmaster of his Primary School to get further information.
I am so glad many are coming out to help! I will keep you updated here!
@ Maina, I commend you for…
@ Maina, I commend you for taking charge,and I back you fully.Keep us posted.
@maxiley – here are a few…
@maxiley – here are a few updates: I just talked to Evans Odhiambo’s Primary School, a Mr George Bush Ogweyo.
Both of us have decided that he should go to the Ministry Of Education in Nairobi to request a new admission to either Starehe or Lenana! This will take place on the 2 of January 2020.
The boy scored all A grades!! He wanted to join the two schools I have mentioned. I pray that He who is the Most High God will open a way for this boy’s heart desires to be met, in Jesus name!!
Please hold on your gift for him! I will update you accordingly! Thank you.
@maxiley – We have done all…
@maxiley – We have done all the leg for Evans Onyango Odhiambo to go to Kisii High School. He will be reporting to school very early on the 13 January 2020.
I will be paying all his school fees (Kshs 54,000.00) for one year roughly on on Tue/Wednesday next week on the 7/8 January 2020.
I have sent Mr. Ogweyo, Evans Head Teacher, and the father to Kisii High School to make sure an account is properly set up where the money will deposited.
The two emissaries will be going there tomorrow morning and will communicate with me soon after the visit. Both of them have been tireless traversing from Migori to Nairobi in search of a better school for Evans. Lenana or Starehe did not work out but at least we tried.
I just also found out that going to High School in Kenya one has to take everything including a Mattress. School Uniform will be paid for separately once the student is registered.
In a nutshell therefore, school supplies and the Uniform are yet to be provided – in simple terms, they are yet to be paid for.
Those willing to contribute to this honorable cause will be provided with Evans school account after it has been set up! I hope to get the account verify by next Monday at the latest. I will share it right here with you.
Happy New Year to all who are willing to help. I thank Mwakilishi for sticking with us, and for distributing our communication as needed!
You have given me the opportunity to meet Evans family, and begin a lasting friendship with Evans and his whole family.
I have never been to Migori or Kisii, but now through this platform I have all the good reasons to visit a friend in both places in the near future.
All I can say is simply that God is good, life is so beautiful, and the life of this young boy is looking up and brighter than ever before! All is well that ends well!! What a joy!!
it is midnight here in…
it is midnight here in Kenya, I have prepared my chair which I Use as my bed ,I’m going to sleep having hope since I talked to you Mr maina ,I’m now happy. my father was involved in a road accident on 18-02-2008.along Migori -isebania road the matter was taken to Migori law court ,civil case No. 108/09 and Was determined but,despite that the judgement was in favor of my father ,my father was never compensated up to now. the accident left him with permanent deformations on his left arm. he can neither do difficult /hard work nor walk long distance therefore, I was sponsored by Chrisco School up to class eight, since the school could not continue with its scholarship, I was so desperate and I never knew what would happen after. Hello Evans – I have felt…
Hello Evans – I have felt deeply honored and joyful for the golden opportunity you, your father and I had to get to know one another today.
For me, It was such an instant feeling of connection immediately we started talking. I felt like I have known you and your family for many years. I hope you and your father felt the same way.
I could feel how proud your father is about you as our conversation progressed. I also could feel that your loved for your father and the rest of your family is uniquely special.
I want you to know that we have now started a journey together. In this journey, I hope to learn from you and your family how to humble myself as the Lord gives me guidance, wisdom, knowledge and understanding on the best way to meet your needs, mainly your educational needs. I want to offer you a permanent academic gift.
. The former late MP for Kibra Mr Okoth never slept on a bed until he joined high school. I say this to comfort you that sleeping on a CHAIR is just a process in life. I want to give something durable that can help you buy many “beds” in the future.
I want you to know that in this world there is no one person that is fully self sufficient. You may feel like you are lacking at this present time, but I want you to know that we live on a global village where God’s main purpose in us is to do good to one another as we serve.
That is why Christ has opened a way for you so that I can be of service to you in this hour need. So I want you to keep your hopes alive as we embark on your academic journey together! It is a very good journey because I have through most of it.
As you and I discussed earlier today, I want us to keep our standards of discipline and respect very high in doing the right things. We will not take short cuts or compromise our moral conscience. We are always better when we play by the rule of law and stay out of trouble!
As I promised, you are going to school on 13 January 2020. So, please start preparing yourself for that very special occasion in your youthful life. I want you to study hard when you join high school so that you can continue to make your father and the entire family very proud!
I have received all your Very impressive Certificates that your father sent to me. Congratulations for receiving all As in your KCPE! I am very proud of you and happy that you have worked so hard to get here.
I have received the family photos you sent me. Your family looks very beautiful! You are a handsome guy and the future is in your hands. Please work hard because you can be anything you want to be in this world. You can reach far beyond the blue skies! There is no limit!
So sorry that your father had a terrible accident, which left him per mantle injured. I want you to know that all is well as we begin a new journey together.
I will stand by you as you travel along the paths of life. All I can ask of you is to respect your father, love your Mother and often tell her that you love her, and treat your two sisters with kindness, respect and love!
I am still verifying a few things! Once l complete what I am doing, I will let you know our next step forward together. This should just take a few days.
I have communicated with a few other good people that are willing to help you. All financial support will go directly to your School account to maintain the integrity of this process.
In due course, I believe you will get to communicate with others who are willing to help you.
You have done the right things knocking the right doors across the world. And they are opening fast and furious!
Have a good night!
Thank you for contacting me through this medium,
Maina.
@maina ..That is very…
@maina ..That is very touching move. May God bless you as you lead this noble cause .. “let’s not be weary of doing good…”
I continue thanking you as…
I continue thanking you as you support me. I dearly thank James Maina since he is completely committed as he sent my teacher to try and get a chance at either Starehe School or Lenana School. Thank you all and may God bless you abundantly as you celebrate !!A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Hello Evans – Greetings!…
Hello Evans – Greetings! Please keep your hopes alive and together, we will get through this very soon!
Suna East MP Junet Mohamed was in Migori on Saturday/Sunday distributing bursaries to the needy pupils in Migori.
13 year pupil, Evans Onyango Odhiambo, who scored the second highest KCPE points of 413 out of 500 was left out without any assistant by MP Junet.
Evans comes from a very poor family. His family of 5 live in one room in Migori. Evans father is disabled from a road accident back in 2008. He drives a Bonda Bonda to provide to his family. Evans applies for the CDF bursary but he was denied! What the requirements for the best performing student in Migori, Kenya to be awarded a bursary to go to High School?
A got to know about Evans needs through a Mwakilishi message he sent to MP Babu Owino kindly asking him to finance his academic dreams. With all due respect MP Junet Mohamed, how in the whole wide world could you have omitted this deserving kid from the CDF bursary? Why did you not call Evans to even congratulate him for scoring 413 KCPE points? Is Migori like George Orwell describe life as the “Animal Farm” where every man is for himself and the Almighty God for the forgotten lot in Migori?
I have searched this family to make sure this young boy is not trying to scam money from others. I have talked to Evans, Evans father, the mother, and two sisters in the past few days. Evans is impatient with living poor. He has studied very hard because he wants to be a medical doctor. Why not give Evans a chance with a promised that he will return to Migori to work at St Joseph’s Hospital to help the those who are needy like him?
I have also reached out to Evans Primary School Head Teacher (Head Master), Mr George Bush Ogweyo. He describes Evans as a dream child and an excellent pupil! Yes, there is a George Bush in Migori who dreams big for the poor kids. If he was in Texas, the people of Texas would vote in to Congress! I have sent Mr Bush in a mission to try to help Evans.
MP Junet Mohamed, I ask you, “a good mind is a terrible thing to waste”! Can you give Evans a CDF bursary to continue with his education for the good of the people of Migori?
Ladies and gentlemen, Mara…
Ladies and gentlemen, Mara Fiji was Mwakilishi News Paper – I want to make a few corrections:
1. Evans Odhiambo went to a primary school that is located in Suna East Constituency! The MP is Junet Mohamed!
2. The boy’s parents live in Suna West constituency! The MP is Peter Masara.
Now, the two MPs can figure out from which kitty the CDF bursary money should be allocated and distributed to a needy child!
I think both MPs should have called the pupil to congratulate him for a job well done.
Sasa wewe Mr Peter Masara – shinda ni gani, what is the problem Ndugu Wambuge?
Guys you better do something because I will not stop fighting for this young man!
I sincerely that the Mwakilishi staff for helping us to help this needy pupil! Hongera sana!
@ Maina, thanks for fighting…
@ Maina, thanks for fighting for this young man ,and justice.If only our representatives put such efforts and work for who elected them, Evans would not be in this position. Please keep us updated. Iam still waiting with my donation.
I also wish you a happy, healthy,and prosperous 2020.
@maxiley, Surely you will be…
@maxiley, Surely you will be the first one to personally update with Kisii school account details for Evans. This case is true! No conmanship is involved here.
Evans is the deal! I have done a thorough investigation and I’m 110% sure we are doing the right thing to help.
My new year’s gift is to a young deserving child. Evans and his family have become a household item for discussion in my home. I talk to the father many times in a day. He is a very humble disabled man – I wish I could do more for him and the family; but time will tell.
Let say, it has been difficult trying to reach out to the politicians (the waheshimiwa guys are no where to be found) in the hour of need!
Wow, the Chief, the MCA, the MPs, the Senator and the governor – sadly wore Wako in the deep slumberland! Lakini, wanchi still vote them in anyway! Wow, Kenya yetu kunashinda walahala! What is wrong with “US” black people!? What is truly wrong?! We have not yet unleashed the shackles of wabeberu! Our ability to think about the future of our nation is seriously stagnated! Naomba Mola atuokoe kabisa kwa minyororo ya ignorance na atupe fikira safi!
I have been working continuously since the day we started to work on this important issue. Now I understand why ordinary Kenyans are so frustrated with their leaders. They totally feel completely disenfranchised and forgotten, literally!
I’m not sure if the Kenyan leaders are just overwhelmed by all the problems they have created overtime to a point they have given up themselves. Those I managed to talk to have some hellish negative attitudes to the electorates who elected them. I thank God that I’m not bound by any one of them. I’m not answerable to none!
They expect the poor and the needy to bow down and worship them if they have to do something for them. Bro, something have to give in for Kenya to change for the better!
Anyway, thankfully, Evans will be going to Kisii High School to begin a new life and a very bright future. I am taking this boy as my own child!!
I don’t begin a venture that I cannot conclude. I am glad we can help this 13 year old child to start experiencing his dreams, and for once put a smile on his youthful face. A young boy shouldn’t have to go through headaches, heartaches and frustrations when he has worked hard to score 413/500 on his KCPE.
I will update you next week or earlier. Happy New Year, and may you abundantly receive Heavenly blessings and prosperity in 2020! Asante Ndugu!
Thank you very much Mr.Maina…
Thank you very much Mr.Maina for helping evans Odhiambo, I personally new about the needy situation way in the month of August 2019, I tried to link him with Light Academy Sponsorship where he did Mathematics test and he emerged among the top. unluckily he didn’t get a chance. I really appreciate your helping hand, May the Lord continue to bless you.
@Veronicah – I have paid…
@Veronicah – I have paid Evans school fees for one year of education at Kisii High School, in full today!
I want to thank Mwakilishi staff for keeping our communications going. They all dared to dream with Evans; and now something we all embarked on in the past two weeks have come to bear real fruits. Also, thanks to @maxiley where I responded to let him know I am willing to help – by the way Maxiley you can buyEvans school supplies and the Uniform if you feel called to fulfill that need.
I have talked to Evans, the father and the mother a short while ago. They are all very happy that Evans has started a new journey full of Heavenly blessing!
As you may know I have never met this wonderful family. As a matter of fact I don’t have to meet them to feel their frustrations and pain.
However, it is my moral duty to step up and provide support to a very needy child who has worked so hard, against all the odds, to scored 413/500 in his KCPE exams. He sent me his report card – he scored all As, Amen!
I can not hide away from real problems affecting our children in Kenya. They are the generation that will take Kenya to the next level full of hopes, dreams and promises.
If we can give these children proper guidance, moral conscience, and needed material support, they will become Kenya’s future leaders in various faculties of life. They are our children and we should care about their plight and their progress in life, and spiritually. Kenya needs a true Rico all in every aspect of life; we need to change our mindset 360 + 1 degree if we have to develop our country!
Evans desperately cried for help through the media. He was kindly asking the world for a piece of “bread” to feed his educational hunger! As a Kenyan man, it would have been a grave danger to turn Evans away, or send him a “stone”! We Kenyan men need to start responding to urgent calls in the hour of glaring need!
He still needs help with school supplies and the Uniform. He needs to have the money for this need before 13 January, 2020 upon reporting to school. I don’t think this need is insurmountable!
Everything – material or otherwise, that we own is a blessing from the Most High God – a free gift from God! We are just stewards of God’s resources here on the earth.
I feel deeply humbled in this endeavor to support Evans Odhiambo! It is my pleasure, my joy, and I feel privileged to help Evans. May God be glorified!
