Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i on Tuesday chaired the first National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee meeting at Harambee House in Nairobi.
The meeting was attended by all Cabinet Secretaries as well as Attorney-General Kihara Kariuki and Head of the Public Service Francis Kinyua.
The Committee’s main role is to supervise and coordinate the implementation of all government development programs and projects.
Among the programs the Committee will be monitoring include President Kenyatta’s big four agenda; manufacturing, universal healthcare, affordable housing, and food security.
Matiang’i was appointed by President Kenyatta to head the Committee through Executive Order No.1 of 2019 issued last month.
Cabinet Secretaries are required to report to Matiang’i on the progress of all projects under their dockets. Matiang’i will in turn report directly to the President.
“The National Development Implementation and Communication Cabinet Committee has held our first meeting to review the implementation plans for all development programmes and projects to fast-track execution as directed by H.E. @UKenyatta through Executive Order No.1 of 2019,” Matiang’i says in a tweet.
National Treasury CS Henry Rotich is the Committee’s vice-chairperson.

I agree,he has the roughness…
I agree,he has the roughness required to oversee corrupt, lazy entitled civil servants. However he is not a politician… Or should he be in order to get elected? The voters like slimminess and being lied to, being bribed and they are also tribalistic. I would wish to be proven wrong.
