NASA Wants Matiang’i, Boinnet Investigated By ICC

National Super Alliance (NASA) wants acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Mating’i and the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet investigated by the International Criminal Court for alleged crimes against humanity.

Speaking during a media briefing at Capital Hill, Nairobi on Saturday, Siaya Senator James Orengo alleged that there is a militia being recruited to execute Nasa supporters during their anti-IEBC demos.

Orengo said that acting Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet are culpable of crimes against humanity due to the recent brutal killings of opposition supporters by police.

“Boinnet as the Inspector General of Police and Matiang’i as the Interior Cabinet Secretary authorized the use of force against Nasa supporters,”.

“They are responsible for crimes against humanity against Nasa supporters in the name of restoring public order,” he said.

The senator warned thar the opposition will not continue to watch their people being butchered in the name of quelling violence during protests.

“If the brutality against our people continues, we will not sit back and be butchered. We will take actions that will ensure self-defence against a marauding State,” he said, adding; “we warn Mr Kenyatta to be aware that he is steadily driving the country towards the end of Kenya as we know it.”

Nasa has called on international and local human right watch groups to join the fight against the killings being carried out on Kenyans by the government.

“We are appealing to credible human rights organisations to investigate the profiling and killing of Nasa supporters without justification.

“They want to turn Nasa areas into the Biafra or Kosovo of Kenya. President Uhuru Kenyatta and his officers must be prepared to shoulder the consequences,” Orengo said.
