Three Kenyans Arrested in Malawi in Connection to Human Trafficking

Police in Malawi have arrested three Kenyan nationals suspected of engaging in human trafficking crime.

The three suspects are said to have entered Malawi on July 29, 2017 and have been colluding with Malawian man to help them in getting two girls.

The trio are accused of working with the Malawian man to facilitate the two girls travel documents to Dubai, United Arabs Emirates, where they were to be sent for work.

Peter Irungu Muchai, Stephen Mungo Kamau and Ndungu Marigi are accused to have pledged to pay a total of USD3,000 to the Malawian man, when the scheme succeded.

Police said that they got a tip off from the public and the three were arrested in Malawi capital, Lilongwe.

The three suspects admitted planning to traffick the girls, when police interrogated them.

They confessed to planning to traffic the girls to Dubai in disguise as casual workers.
