National Super Alliance’s Presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka has spoken after his foundation, Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation accounts were frozen on Tuesday.
The Non-Governmental Organizations Coordination Board announced that it has decided to freeze the accounts of the former Vice President’s Foundation as well as the Foundation’s Board over failure to account for Sh146 million.
But in a response to the freezing of the accounts, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka termed the move by the NGO regulatory board as utter political persecution adding that the board did not have any tangible evidence to halt the operations of the said foundation. “This is political persecution,” he said.
Musyoka said that he will be making a full media report on the matter on Wednesday asking his supporters to consider it as a political tact by rivals aimed at intimidating him “I will respond to all issues raised tomorrow (Wednesday) and Kenyans will be very shocked with what I will reveal. You should also look at the timing of the action of the board,” he added.
The move came just days after Musyoka was named the opposition NASA’s running mate in the August 8 polls. Raila Odinga was announced the coalition’s presidential flag bearer in a political rally held in Uhuru Park last Thursday.
