  1. The term disappointing…
The term disappointing fourth place has thrown around loosely unfairly ,and negatively, but I think the team did well with the athletes that were representing the country.I had said before, that Kenya would be very lucky to get four gold medals.I had based my prediction on the results of participation in international events before the WC in Oregon.Note that very few Kenyan athletes were dominant or consistent in their respective disciplines that would be termed as high performance,or world beating
We lost gold to Al bakarli from Morocco that was expected. We lost gold to Jacob from Norway, that was expected. We lost gold in steeple chase to Nora Jerito of ubekistan that was expected. In the previous World championships we had won at least 5 Gold medals, and main reason was that the athletes who had won were dominant, and consistent in their top level performance before the games/events.
Yes, of course there is always a dark horse from nowhere who wins or performs well, and that’s what Kenya was banking on.Pretty unreliable…
Iam not a technician or a couch, but track and field events are mainly about who runs fastest, jumps highest,or longest, and throws farthest. Its that simple.
Before departure for the just ended championships training staff were all hopefully that they would out perform the previous championships, and that the training was excellent.Well, do you real think that they would be brutally honest and say ,”5 Gold medals is asking too much…”? Of course not.
So team Kenya, hold yourselves high and proud you did well. And there is always next time to do better.Heck in the whole world how many countries would love to be position 4?

Very well said Maxiley. We didn’t have the best athletes in this championship besides Kipkyegon, I do not think we had a great team. Also, many factors going into this Championship… 4th place was decent in my opinion.

  2. After chaos on visa issue,…
After chaos on visa issue, Amina prioritizing her family and friends visa application before the athletes .They held their nerves, Not forgetting the effect on training and cancellation of in between competitions before Oregon in the past 2 years due to COVID. You really did good .if you watched live you could see they gave everything. well done and next year in Budapest you will do better.

Kenyan atheltics has been going downhill for sometime I rememeber back in the 1990s when they would dominate middle and long distance events.Even during tbe recent Tokyo olympics they were disappointing.I think 2 Gold if I remember. What is going on?

Not necessarily. Other countries may have simply caught up. Do you remember how absolutely dominant the US used to be in the sprint events?
