  1. I was saddened to hear of…
I was saddened to hear of the demise of my friend and former colleague, Peter Njonjo. We worked together in the IT department at ECHO. He was kind, easy going, always ready to help, very intelligent and quite humorous. We worked together for 7 years. We made a great team. May God, who knows and sees the hearts of all men, comfort you, his family in a special way. Fare thee well, my friend, till we meet again.

Peter was an elder brother, a charming friend and had time for all including the younger once, like we were to him.

What would we do if we knew we were living on borrowed time?

    ——
How would we structure our relationship with God!, with our spouse, with our Children?

    ——

What would we do differently at work, with our career or business?

    ——

How would we treat your friends?

    ——

Peter always lived life to the full, it’s like he knew he was on borrowed time. He lived life his Way. Even as a young man, Peter was always Full of Life, Positive, Optimistic, Ambitious and always sure that in the end, it will work out. It is the way he approached his school. I’ll always remember how proud he was, how proud his mom and dad were when he scored top marks in his High schools examination – 35 out of the 36…It was a HUGE Deal.

    ——

His work too….being one of the most celebrated computer experts of his time, so much so, he was described as a COMPUTER Wiz..at his time.

    ——

His Relationships too….Peter had the ability to make you know he appreciated you, sincerely ..even when you were younger or even much older….all while reminding and advising you on what you needed to do, to get to the next level.

He gets it from his Dad, I think – Mr Njonjo, an engineer, an educator, is a man who left an unmatched legacy in his work as an education officer, pioneering such achievements like the Introduction of a Computer Science Curriculum in Secondary School Education. But its his warmth, his outgoing nature, his desire to help those around him, that we remember. He was the go to guy for his Peers – like my Father – who when he had a rough patch with his sickness , he would go to solace to his friend. His friend, an expert guitar man always had time to pacify and heal his soul.

These are the things that we remember Mr Benson Njonjo for, and now Peter for.

We Thank God for Peter, his generosity, his cheer, but for me, him as an elder brother, showed me how to live my life, like each day mattered. Showing me that at the end of the day, We ALL Are Living on BORROWED TIME, We need to be Close to HIM who created US. We need to Tell those that we Love, That we Love them – After Peter – I find myself telling my kids I love them…every day when I drop them to School. I show tmy spouse the best way I can as an African man from Muranga that I do love her..I need to try harder in those and other things..because Our time is short, its borrowed. Two Years ago, Peter was here, full of life, a National Pool Champion, healthy as can be…So structure your relationship with God!, with your spouse, with Your Children? Your Friends, Your WORK…Structure them so that when you leave, you leave a legacy, one that others can emulate and Thank God for, Like we are doing for our loving brother – Peter Ndungu Njonjo!
