Kenyans on social media are demanding the arrest of a group of men who were videotaped sexually assaulting a female driver in Nairobi.
This comes after a video clip of the incident that reportedly occurred along Wangari Maathai Rd (formerly Forest Rd) went viral online on Monday.
The amateur video shows a group of men, believed to be boda-boda operators, trailing the woman’s car before undressing her and trying to pull her out. The victim can be heard screaming as the men strip her naked.
Reports indicate that the attack came after an accident involving the woman’s vehicle and a boda-boda operator.
The video triggered outrage on social media, with Kenyans calling for the regulation of the boda-boda sector to tame such incidents, which have been rampant in recent years.
Activist Njeri Migwi tweeted: “A young woman today was accosted by motorbike riders on Forest road, you can see them actually groping and rough handling her. We have as a country allowed boda bodas to be a law unto themselves. Her screams of terror and fear are a telling story of how we invalidate women.”
Laura Walubengo wrote: “The video of the lady being harassed on Forest Road due to the boda accident. How did we get this low? If we so readily oppress one another… are we so badly scarred that we’ve such little respect for each other? Boda riders need to be kept in check. Uber style accountability.”
Naomi Mutua tweeted: “The video of that lady on Forest road is heartbreaking. @DCI_Kenya @NPSOfficial_KE, please do the right thing and identify her. We have thugs, sexual predators in our midst. We cannot let this behavior continue unchecked.”
Mwalimu Dida said: “That Forest Road video is a perfect example why tight regulations should be placed on Boda Boda industry. Majority of riders are criminals. Govt should geotag all motorbikes, only sell them to licensed riders and forced them into SACCOs. We are facilitating criminals.”
“Something needs to be done urgently to tame this rogue boda boda industry. What I have watched in that Forest Road video is despicable! I hope that lady gets justice and all the help she requires to fully recover from that traumatic experience. SUCH A SHAME!” tweeted Mac Otani.
Can the ever drunk CIC…
Can the ever drunk CIC explain how such devilish act could happen in an area patrolled by alot of policemen all the time? The useless president is busy drinking BUZAA and campaigning for Raila as he is aiming at PM’s post.Njeri,Walubengo and Naomi should encourage women drivers to buy guns for self defense instead of blaming everybody for your GK’s failure..I hope that lady’s brothers will REVENGE for her as those Railas will bribe their way to freedom.
Thanks for your comment.

Thanks for your comment.
As a citizen, I will defend myself as I deem right, but how will perpetrators be expected to face the law? It exists for a reason, and the enforcement authorities that do the work exist too.
We should not excuse government and its agencies from their work. Why then do they exist, and why should citizens be left to do their work?
Instead of being a faceless commenter, have the guts to show your name and face. Demand that the government serve it’s role, and do yours as a citizen.
Have a good day.

If you’re going to hit someone in your car the least you can do is pay the damages.

Boda youth turning their anger of lack of decent jobs on the wrong person. Job creation and boda sacco will bring discipline

All of know that KENYA is slowly turning to the old wild west.
Economic hardships will lead folks to vent out like this. Folks are frustrated, but thevl HYENAS are busy plotting their next meal.
Ladies if you can AFFORD it, please carry a 22 pistol, small, lightweight and does the job perfectly. YOUR LIFE MEANS MORE TO YOU THAN TO ANYBODY ELSE.

Democracy liberalism feminism and poverty don’t get along.
Boda poor are turning their anger on the wrong nearest person instead of trillionaire ticks who’ve stolen their future and impoverish them like bed bugs. Shetani ashindwe
Society is a reflection of…
Society is a reflection of its leaders and leadership.
This is how low Kenyan Society and Kenyan leadership has become
I thought the so called ” Handshake ” brought peace to the country!
What peace?
Our law makers are busy asking for more money to bankrupt the country and making laws that will benefit them and their families. They have been busy with corruption,
Our police are busy asking for bribes.
Our judges the same.
Where were the good Samaritans when the lady was being stripped naked?
Our prospective leaders are traveling outside the country seeking support from without while our country is collapsing from within.
Our country does not need money from foreign government, what is needed is morals starting from top.
Is this what we call development or advancement?
If this is where we are being taken by our so called “government” and “leaders”, it’s time to run and go back.
It’s time for Kenya to go back to our God and ask for God’s annointment of a willing and capable leader who will implement God’s law and not man’s law.
” An eye for an eye”
” If you kill, you get killed”
Thank God, change of season is here.
It’s time for separation, revelation and restoration.
There is more to come, before we finally settle for a leader in Kenya.
Right now in Kenya it’s ” Every man for himself and God for us all”- The shop is open to all with no attendant.
Too much West is East and we are on our way East, back to our roots.
No new laws will fix this while corruption, theft and all manner of criminal activity is reigning supreme. Leadership needs to be fixed first.
We need to ask ourselves, who are we and what have we become?
” Ee mungu nguvu yetu”
Some of these boda riders…
Some of these boda riders
lack CHARACTER. Before some come here throwing tempers “character is defined in how your habits, motives, thoughts, and so on relate to morality, particularly as it concerns integrity”. So with that knowledge some “NOT ALL” of these boda riders given any slight opportunity they will display their bad habits, bad motives, bad thoughts because that is who they are as an individual. The outcome is what you all saw on social media it has happened before not once not twice. It’s time for action!. Boda sector need to be regulated country wide to weed out bad elements. If they lack character they are lacking even what is required to do their job.
This crime here is…
This crime here is emblematic of a larger problem in Kenya. We have a weak government, weak and rotten morals, weak leaders, weak men and women of the cloth, scared parents, scared teachers. And above all lack of respect for women.Where did we go wrong? We cannot stand by and hope that these social evils will just go away by themselves. We have to act. And action starts by electing politicians and government officials who can deliver. We need leaders who are resolute, moral, ethical, and have integrity.Otherwise nothing will change. Elections are coming soon.If you think that the same old politicians will deliver, you are mistaken.August elections offer us another chance to swipe clean the slate.Let’s take our chances with new leaders.
Isn’t Ruto your glorified…
Isn’t Ruto your glorified candidate the same old politician who have disrespected women by killing them alive in 2007 church fire which he now calls a small accident?
What boda boda are doing violating women in society was started by Ruto in 2007 when he killed several kikuyu women and their children.
Kenyans must raise up to clean the society from these cheap hustlers hoodlums who have no respect for others and the country.
The use of the impoverishing term “hustler” must be banned in kenya. Hustlers tend to act in a lawless manner any where in kenya. Ruto is teaching young Kenyans to be thugs.
Wow Wow, hold on @ Ciro, when…
Wow Wow, hold on @ Ciro, when did I proclaim that Ruto is my candidate. To the contrary I have always attached his corrupt ways, and that disqualifies him as my candidate. I place high premium on integrity. However you are excused if you merely used “your candidate” in a generic sense…
This is very sad and such…
This is very sad and such depressive a read. But no matter the offense, or excuse of frustration with a hopeless economy, no one has the right to do what they did to her. Such a traumatic episode that will linger the rest of her life… Peace to her. Kenya unfortunately has turned out to be one lawless land… I feel like we need a ruthless dictator, Gaddafi or Kagame style..maybe the next generation can know how to simply follow the law..

Boda boda jobs could have been a dignified career but the government refused to regulate them people, making them a very powerful gang. Sasa ndio serikal imefunguka macho????!!!
