Inspector-General of Police Orders a Probe into Assault Claims Against Mukhisa Kituyi by Alleged Girlfriend

Inspector-General of Police Hilary Mutyambai has ordered a probe into assault allegations against Mukhisa Kituyi.

The 2022 presidential aspirant is accused of assaulting a woman at The Tamarind Village hotel in Nyali, Mombasa last month.

The woman identified as Diana Opemi Lutta filed a report at Nyali Police Station on May 22nd, claiming that Kituyi dragged her out of bed and kicked her repeatedly while on the floor. The woman, who alleges to be Kituyi’s girlfriend, said she suffered knee injuries and was treated at Coast General Hospital.

“Assault report to the station by one Diana Opemi Lutta (who) has submitted a report today the 22nd day of May 2021, at around 0200 hours. She has been assaulted by a person known to her within Tamarind Village, namely Mukhisa Kituyi whom she claims to be her boyfriend,” the report booked under OB Number 10/22/05/2021 read.

“Police advised her to seek medical attention for further police action after she was issued with a P3 form which was later filled at the Coast General Hospital.”

Diana told People Daily that Kituyi, former secretary-general of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTD), assaulted her after she turned down his sexual advances.

On Thursday, Mutyambai directed Coast Regional Police Commander to open an investigation into the allegations leveled against Kituyi.

When contacted for comment on the matter, Kituyi denied the reports and insisted that he has never laid his hands on a woman.

“Someone had written a report claiming I had assaulted her but it was not true. I’ve never beaten any woman in my life nor do I intend to ever do it at any given time. We sorted out the case and it was withdrawn,” he said. But Nyali OCS Albert Chebii said the case has not been withdrawn and investigations are ongoing.

Kituyi, who resigned from UNCTD in February to run for president in 2022, toured Mombasa in May to popularize his bid.

  1. How sad that not even…
How sad that not even education, international exposure/experience will teach a Kenyan politician good manners. Bwana “Kitu-hii” will know that demanding “kitu-ii” by force is rape and has finished his career by a simple act of arrogance. His reputation at the international stage is gone and will need a miracle to set foot at any international forum- HOW SAD! But he can visit “capi-ta hill” for a wash and sing song to somebody to avoid jail time. What a shame that one can serve at UN and have no respect for human beings especially a woman/ Kenyan woman whom the society has already victimized that they have to entertain stupid men to put food on the table. No wonder I listened to his interview and his arguments were bull stuff- he makes no sense.

  2. A big same that Kenya’s…
A big same that Kenya’s president wants PENGENYE by force.MUBAKAJI Kituyi should call MP Wanjiku Ndwiga/Waruguru,Kigen & Waweru who is never satisfied with one MBOLO.

  3. Mukisa was sett up my DP…
Mukisa was sett up my DP Ruto to minimize 2022 political competition! Who does Ruto think he is fooling? Ruto is a dirty religious dog!

  4. Education has become too…
Education has become too expensive. You do not need it to just end up pushing papers. Those school debts have not translated into jobs?
After Covid-19, we have to ask ourselves whether that education is useful. Education up to High school is very useful. Beyond that, not useful at all this time.
Let us think twice before drowning ourselves and our kids in useless debt. We have too many who are just holding a useless paper(Useless degree) but they spent every shilling of their family wealth acquiring that useless paper.
    Kenyans, think twice!!
Debt is another word for slavery.
Let the loan sharks find somewhere else to take their money.
