A 60-year-old Kenyan woman has committed suicide after she was unable to refund Sh20,000 she took from her church in order to sustain her family.
The body of Ruth Akinyi Ogola from Rongo, Migori County was found hanging from a rope outside her kitchen on Monday afternoon.
Confirming the incident, area Assistant Chief Eddy Onyango said the deceased, who was a church treasurer, spent the cash she had collected from members of the church but she was unable to repay in good time.
Onyango said the woman hanged herself despite her son managing to raise Sh15,000 through the sale of a cow to refund part of the debt.
Chief Onyango urged locals to use alternative ways of handling their issues.
There’s possibility she was…
There’s possibility she was under Excess duress from Members to Pay back the Money. She thought the Debt would be Understood and Forgiven but Nope!
This my friends is…
This my friends is definitely NOT what God intended to be done with the knowledge of His will for mankind. People make mistakes in desperate situations. The church missed a golden opportunity to preach about God’s forgiveness in our lives. Thank God because He has made us aware of His expectations for us. The church should have seen past the money. They should have given her family unpaid labor to pay back her restitutions. We can’t say we didn’t know His will when we see God.
What iam reading here is…
What iam reading here is that the deceased helped herself with the church offerings. That in itself should not have driven her to commit suicide .This Is one of the rare times I have to agree @ Guest1.She must have been inundated with intolerable rumors, and gossip from Church members-worse from those who can hardly donate.
All in all It’s attachable Moment from Many angles as well put@ Larry Dowo for those who follow teachings of the son of Miriam;to borrow aline from Ndugu Imara Daima.
