Video of Tuk Tuk Driver Hurling Stones at Two Kenyan Traffic Police Officers Goes Viral Online

A video of a Tuk Tuk taxi driver stoning two Kenyan traffic police officers manning a roadblock at a yet to be known location has surfaced on social media.

In the 42-second clip, there seems to be a confrontation between the two traffic cops and the driver.

The driver looks to have oover powered one of the officers who is on the ground before getting into his vehicle in an attempt to fled. He then makes a u-turn and tries to hit  the other officer.

After driving away, he makes another about turn towards the officers, alights from the Tuk Tuk and begins hurling stones at them.

The unarmed officers scamper for safety as other road users watch. The Tuk Tuk bears registration number KTWB 757D.

Here is what a section of online users have to say about the incident:

✔@RobertAlai notes: “If you know the location and who did this, share. We can’t allow anyone beating the police. Must be arrested immediately. Kindly find me names and location.”

@wangilainnocent says:” Traffic officers are the second eyesores to Kenyans after mpigs!!!!,,These guys beating them deserves HSC awards.”

  3. “Unarmed police officers”,…
“Unarmed police officers”, why not armed? Are they here for beauty, come on Mr Boinnet, you let robbers get arms and you disarm your officers, think twice or reporters are misleading. Police need more training and use of things like teaser to bring this guy down, dont wrestle as some of us have tie kwondo and maybe retired officers so u never know. Use ur common sense and gauge, should have flattened tuk tuk tires on the spot and deal with this guy papo hapo, 2:1? Trained:untrained?? BOINNET KAZI KWAKO

  4. The video is not explicit…
The video is not explicit and thus we may not know who’s right or wrong. Here we see a police force that has been hired based on nepotism and quota system…just like in Kenyan healthcare system where nurses graduate incompetently. Police force is not purely done on merit and that’s why there is no patriotism/impetus.Such act has eroded public confidence in law enforcement making few good police officers unsafe. If government systems are not respected and supported, soon we are heading Somalia way.

  7. Those who are “celebrating”…
Those who are “celebrating”,this incidents should note that the cops could be their father or son. This is un acceptable. If we start taking laws into our hands then we dont need the police.Let the law deal with bad apples in the police force.
Having said this, iam mindful that police is the most corrupt governmental entity in kenya-according to transparency internation. They are to blame for the erosion of pu lic confidence in them.Hopefully with the new uniforms anew day will be ushered.
