Wazir Benson Masubo Chacha, the man who shot to limelight after being accused of extorting cash and sleeping with female Members of Parliament has finally given his side of the story.
Speaking in an interview with The Star newspaper, the 24-year-old dismissed claims that he slept with 13 female MPs, but confessed to being in a romantic relationship with two lawmakers.
He further explained that he did not force the MPs to ‘love’ him, noting that they fell for him because of his character.
“I did not force them in whatever way to have an affair with me,” he told The Star and blamed politics for the leaked photos of him with some female MPs.
Prodded to explain why he was seeing two MPs at the same time Chacha said: “One relationship was in ICU and I sought an alternative.”
“I loved the MPs because they are mature and understanding. They don’t have any pressure like the slay queens (younger girls),” he said adding that he does not regret having sexual engagements with the MPs.
“Before I started dating them, they had confirmed they were not married but single and ready for an affair.”
In April, Chacha faced allegations of conning MPs and other VIPs as well as frequently sending them nude photos and videos. He denied the allegations and accused Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege, who exposed his alleged behaviors, of trying to fix him.
Speaking to the daily, Wazir said he’s a hardworking man and has earned millions of shillings on his good reputation.
“It was my grooming and character that attracted them my way,” he said.
He claimed that he purchased expensive gifts for the two MPs during their birthdays. “I have no problem dating any woman aged between 18 and 47 years. But I prefer those in their 40’s because they know what a real relationship is.”
He said one of his friends leaked the photos online in a bid to taint the name of one of the politicians he was dating.
“Life has never been the same. I am still digesting on the events that happened but I am positive that this will come to pass,” he said.
He was arrested in Tanzania while allegedly attempting to escape to DRC over the allegations. He was charged with extortion and his case will be mentioned in November.
“I don’t want to comment on the matter but I can confirm good progress has been made. I remain positive that things will work out in my favor. If not, prisons are made for men and I will have to adjust to my fate,” he said.
Chacha claims that he now runs a charity organisation that focuses on girl child education and he’s not a conman as many were made to believe.
“People have believed that I am a conman yet many people can attest that I am person of commendable character.”
Chacha said he was pursuing a course at Manchester University in the UK before he deferred his studies due to a brain tumor. He returned to Kenya in 2013 and was employed at the ministry of Devolution until 2015.
