Jacob Zuma's 24-Year-Old Wife-to-Be Nonkanyiso Conco Fired from Job for Relationship with a 'Sugar Daddy'

A 24-year-old woman who is reportedly set to become former South Africa President Jacob Zuma’s seventh wife has been forced to quit her job at She Conquers, a non-governmental organization.

South African news outlets report that Nonkanyiso Conco was asked to relinquish her position due to her affiliation with the former President, who is 52 years older than her.

In a statement, She Conquers said that Nonkanyiso decision to marry Zuma was contrary to the organization’s campaign to “empower young women in every phase of their lives, and to end reliance on sugar daddies.”

Zuma and Conco allegedly welcomed their first child last week, in what officials at a private hospital in the city of Durban termed as a “VIP delivery”.

Zuma currently has four wives but has been married a total of six times. Of the other two marriages, one ended in a divorce while in the other, his former wife – Dlamini-Zuma committed suicide in 2000. It is estimated her has between 20 and 22 children; 15 with his spouses and 5-7 with other lovers he is not married to.

Ms Conco had been working as the national treasurer and communications officer at She Conquers. “As young girls, we are lured and used by people with power who use their position to take advantage of us,” She Conquers’ deputy chair Leonora Mathe was quoted by Daily Maverick as saying.

“As a campaign, we promote economic empowerment and self-dependency of young women to eliminate the concept of reliance on ‘blessers,’” she added, using a South African word to refer to sugar daddies.

She has since submitted her resignation letter, but is yet to comment in the matter.
