Faith Odhiambo has been elected as the President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), marking a new chapter for the institution.

Previously serving as Vice President, Faith has succeeded Eric Theuri in an election contested by five candidates. Odhiambo’s campaign centred on a steadfast commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the LSK remains an unwavering defender of legal principles. This dedication resonated with many, including prominent figures like ODM leader Raila Odinga and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna who endorsed her candidacy a day before the election.

“An engaging conversation with Faith Odhiambo, LSK Vice President and aspiring LSK President. Her commitment to upholding the rule of law and advocating for good governance principles is truly inspiring. I wish her all the best and she has my full support,” the former Prime minister said.

Following their meeting, Odinga publicly lauded Odhiambo for her unwavering commitment to the rule of law and good governance principles, pledging his full support and well wishes. With the victory, Odhiambo steps into a crucial role tasked with leading the LSK in its mission to uphold the integrity of the legal profession and safeguard the principles of justice within Kenya.

Building on her successful campaign, Faith Odhiambo has secured the decisive victory in the presidential election according to the official announcement by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). Notably, she clinched the polls at both Milimani and Supreme Court polling stations, garnering 132 and 207 votes respectively. This resounding victory marks the beginning of her two-year term as the 51st President of the LSK.

It is important to note that this victory comes after a competitive race against other qualified candidates, including Peter Wanyama, Carolyne Kamende, Harriet Mboche, and Kipkoech Bernhard Ngetich.
