Consular Services at Kenyan Embassy in France Resume

The Kenyan Embassy in France has announced the resumption of consular services after a three-month hiatus.

The embassy restarted some operations on Tuesday after the French government declared Paris as a Green Zone on the spread of Covid-19, Kenya’s Ambassador to France Prof. Judy Wakhungu said in a statement.

“The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya wished to inform Kenya Diaspora (France, Portugal, Serbia) and other esteemed clients of resumption of consular services with effect 23rd June 2020,” the statement read.

The embassy further issued timelines for the application and collection of passports.

“Submission of passport application be from 1000hrs-1300hrs. Collection of passports will be from 1000hrs-1600hrs.”

The mission made it clear that the services will strictly be on an appointment basis in line with the government’s directive on the resumption of consular services.

Those visiting the embassy on appointment will be required to wear face masks. The mission said visa services remain suspended.

The embassy was shut down on March 18th following the outbreak of Covid-19 in France. Amb. Wakhungu said the closure would affect Kenya’s consulates in Holy See, Portugal, and Serbia, which are under her jurisdiction.
