Tracy Mureithi, a 23-year-old Kenyan-born realtor, has made significant strides in Toronto’s real estate market having sold over 40 houses in the city.
Her remarkable journey, as recounted in an interview with Chams Media’s Daring Abroad, exemplifies resilience and ambition. Mureithi’s passion for real estate was kindled during her formative years in Kenya, inspired by local television programs. Her entrepreneurial spirit was further cultivated by her father, a successful businessman in Nyahururu, Kenya, who operates a construction company, manages farms, and owns a fleet of matatus. Mureithi attributes her belief in forging her own career path to her father’s influence.
In 2019, Mureithi relocated to Canada to pursue a degree in Business Technology Management at Toronto Metropolitan University. During her studies, she recognized an opportunity to obtain her realtor’s license, thus embarking on her real estate career. Demonstrating exceptional time management skills, Mureithi successfully balanced her academic pursuits with her burgeoning real estate endeavours, ultimately completing her degree while establishing herself as a realtor. Before her move to Canada, Mureithi was an international accounting student at Strathmore University in Kenya, having previously attended The Kenya High School in Kileleshwa.
Her educational journey culminated in her graduation from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2023. Mureithi’s aspirations extend beyond personal achievement as she aims to empower others to make sound investments and build wealth. Through her work, she has guided numerous clients on investment strategies and wealth accumulation. Her business, which she established three years ago, serves as a platform to educate her community about real estate investment opportunities in both Canada and Kenya. Despite her success, Mureithi has encountered various challenges, including racial discrimination and the task of carving out her niche in a predominantly white industry.
However, these obstacles have not deterred her from pursuing her goals and making a significant impact in the real estate sector. Currently working as a realtor with RE/MAX Realtron Realty Inc. in Toronto, Mureithi continues to inspire many with her achievements.
