Decomposed Body Believed to be of a Kenyan Man Found in Hanover Township, Pennsylvania

A decomposed body believed to be of a 23-year-old US-based Kenyan man was on Tuesday found in a wooded area in Hanover Township in Northampton County, Pennsylvania.

The Northampton County Coroner’s Office said they tentatively identified the deceased as Jermine Odak, alias “JoJo.”

Odak is believed to be a Kenyan who previously resided in Macungie in Pennsylvania, and Cypress in Texas.

The body was discovered by a landscaper picking up trash near the 2300 block of Schoenersville Road at around 9:30 am on Tuesday.

Colonial Regional Police Deputy Chief James DePalma said there was nothing suspicious about the man’s cause of death, adding that he had not been reported missing.

“At this time, the police do not have any reason to believe there is anything nefarious about the death,” DePalma said.

The Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Unit and the Northampton County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death.

Authorities are in the process of confirming his identity and locating family members and have requested assistance in locating anyone who knew, seen or interacted with Odak.

Those with relevant information have been asked to contact Colonial Regional Police detective Michael Munch at 610-861-4820 or the coroner’s office at 610-258-1806.
