Miguna Miguna Supporters to Hold Protest Outside UK’s Parliament in London

Deported opposition lawyer Miguna Miguna’s supporters will on Thursday hold a peaceful protest in the United Kingdom in solidarity with him.

In a post on his social media pages, Miguna said the supporters will hold the demos outside the British Parliament in Westminster, London at 2 pm. The self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general called on his supporters in the UK to turn out for the demos in large numbers to protest the his illegal deportation by the Kenyan government.

“SOLIDARITY DEMO IN THE UNITED KINGDOM, APRIL 5, 2018. I thank NRMKe members, patriots, comrades and friends of Kenya, for taking up the action,” a caption of the poster calling for the demos read.

In a statement on Wednesday, Miguna vowed to continue fighting against the injustices committed by Jubilee administration.

“The despotic President Uhuru and William Ruto ordered my house bombed, my illegal abduction, assault, torture, incommunicado detention, sedation and chemical poisoning and forceful removal from Kenya – twice in violation of 11 court orders. Don’t preach to us about “handshakes” or “national reconciliation.”

“Reconciliation can only happen after we have comprehensively addressed issues of social justice, electoral justice, the rule of law, constitutionalism and respect for human rights,” he stated on Wednesday.

Miguna was thrown out of the country for the second time last week, hours after he arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) from Canada on March 26th.

His return to the country came after he was deported to Canada on February 6th over his role in the swearing in of Opposition leader Raila Odinga as people’s president on January 30th.

However, Immigration authorities denied him entry after he reportedly refused to comply to clearance procedures at the airport. He was banished to Dubai via an Emirates airline flight about 72 yours later.
