Kenyan Man, Billy Kipkorir Chemirmir, Charged with the Murder of an 81-Year-Old Woman in Dallas, Texas

A Kenyan man, 45-year-old Billy Kipkorir Chemirmir, has been arrested and charged with capital murder in the death of an 81-year-old woman in Dallas, Texas.

Police say they were surveilling Chemirmir on the 4500 block of Pear Ridge in Dallas on Tuesday, March 20th on an unrelated case of jewelry theft when they saw him throwing away a jewelry box in a dumpster. When they retrieved the jewelry box from the dumpster, police discovered the box contained a woman’s name, Lu Thi Harris.

Police then went to the woman’s address, only to find her dead from apparent homicidal violence. Police believe she was suffocated with a pillow.

Chemirmir was initially arrested and held in jail on theft charges but upon learning of police interviewed him before charging him with capital murder. Police say they found the victim’s front door inside Chemirmir’s vehicle.

Chemirmir is being held in Dallas County jail on $1 million bail.

The suspect has a long criminal record, including having been charged in separate incidents in March and June, 2016 with criminal trespassing and false identification at a Dallas retirement community.

What a disgrace and an embarrassment to hardworking Kenyan Community! You came all the way from Kenya to Steal, Destroy and KILL? Yani hata mlango unabeba jameni? Mind boggling. I suspect his criminal life stemmed from substance or alcohol abuse. Being a 45 y/o he looks way too older. #Death penalty, he killed an innocent old woman!

This man should have stayed in Kenya if he’s American dream is destruction and death. He’s the reason the government is tired of melanated people including immigrants. Does anyone of y’all Dallas people know this nigga? How long has he been in US?

  6. Arap Boiyo, when the so…
Arap Boiyo, when the so called “American dream” doesn’t work for you, start buying your ticket home. Here in Kenya, you con people, steal from public coffers, kill…..etc, you get away with it. Its not that way in America. It will still not be easy once you land in Jamhuri for a period of time, depending on how good you had “jipangered,” but kind of get some sought of relief. America is a country of laws, and every petty crime you commit follows you like a daylight shadow for the rest of your life. But MURDER? How did you even think of doing that, thinking that you will get away with, in the first place? You murder a mzungu, and to make it worse, in an all-white-people state of Texas? And you are black, and Kenyan? Your goose is cooked! Kenyans, despite your fear of returning home empty-handed, or fear of returning to who or what you were before you, its important you put something for a rainy day, or some sought of nest-eggs, whether in US or Jamhuri. Why? Because life in the US can turn from good to worse through so many instances, namely, lay-offs, job loss, sickness, accidents, detention or deportation, incapacitation, and many other unforeseen calamities. And you well know that missing a check or two changes your life for the worse. And when that happens, you have to look for a way of surviving, working in jobs you have. Our friend Chirchir, if that’s true from what have read, might have passed through all this stages I have mentioned. I sympathize with his family who may not see him again. Kenya is a den of thieves and crafty citizens, but if you can buy yourself a quiet life early, knock down all the big bills like children’s education, shelter, etc, Kenya is a cheap place to settle. I sued to buy maembe at $1, here its Sh10; bread at $3.50, here at sh90; five viazi at $5, here sh350 for a whole debe. Wishing you all the Arap Boiyo.

The self righteous Idaveth, not everyone want your dream, you and Mhalisi are people I can’t stand! What makes you think your dream is everyone else’s . Believe it , some people do not want to live in Kenya however much they are suffering and some are really living a helluva a good life and Kenya is for visiting; other have American spouses and kids and their lives are here and gazillion other scenarios, stop shoving your goody two shoes to everyone else , if you didn’t like it here or care for it and struggled and could not fit in; stop assuming others don’t .!P/S Depending on what city you live in and your ingenuity, even a maembe here can cost that low; when you are not a sheeple and scourge around , life here is very much manageable …ugh tired of everyone grouping the freaking 3000 + of us in one basket with assumptions

      • I think you got idaveth…
I think you got idaveth wrong. I regularly read his/her posts and blogs, but his is always an honest way of looking at things. Just that she always touches live-wires on matters pertaining to life in the diaspora and jamhuri. So don’t be over-sensitive, let reality be told.

It is very sad that people like Ndugu Chemirmir make it hard for many ordinary Kenyans in the USA lead a normal life without carrying the negative baggage of Kenya. Previously, Nigerians were associated with crimes in the US. Now, Kenyans have joined ranks with Nigerians as the people you should avoid in your life.

I am asking the Nigerian and the Kenyan governments to educate their fellow citizens that, there are countries where the rule of law is the norm. The US Embassies in Kenya and Nigeria should demand that the two countries provide their citizens with “Certificate of Good Citizenship” before they go to the US Embassy to get a visa to come to the states. That way, when a citizen from these two countries breaks the law in the US, the person’s country of origin will compensate the US government for the losses that they have experienced through the evil deeds of their citizens.

Billy is still innocent until proven guilty beyond any reasonable doubt. Kenyans with their shoot him down syndrome can not tell the difference between charged and convicted. Kenyans are just a funny breed! I hope Billy gets justice whatsoever.
