Kenyan consumer goods company, Bidco has unveiled Ugali noodles with sukuma wiki flavor to the local market.
The maize meal noodles were launched alongside cheese and onion flavoured noodles, giving local consumers additional varieties from what currently exist.
The introduction of the new noodles come less than a year after the Thika-headquartered company released classic tomato, chicken and onion flavours.
“The introduction of Ugali Noodies with sukuma wiki flavour and cheese variants has been informed by our studies on consumer trends and preferences,” Bidco Africa Group chief executive officer Thiagarajan Ramamurthy said during the launch said, adding that the new varieties meets today’s dietary needs.
The ministry of agriculture has been encouraging millers to blend maize and wheat flour with other nutritious foods in a bid to end over-realiance on maize.
