The unauthorized leak of photographs involving former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and his partner Mary Biketi has sparked a whirlwind of controversy and speculation.
Mary Biketi has chosen to break her silence in the wake of this unwarranted invasion of privacy. Biketi acknowledges the negative backlash she faces from those who wrongfully accuse her of exposing the former governor. However, she remains grateful for the positive support and encouragement she receives from others. Biketi vehemently denies any involvement in the leak of the photographs, asserting that she would never intentionally expose Oparanya in such a manner.
Despite the situation being beyond her control, she and the former governor are actively exploring legal avenues to seek justice against the perpetrator responsible for this unauthorized disclosure. The unauthorized release of the images has undoubtedly impacted both Biketi’s and Oparanya’s families, prompting their joint determination to pursue legal recourse. She asserts being unfazed by the backlash and rumours surrounding her relationship with the former governor.
Acknowledging Oparanya’s polygamous status, she respects his other wives and concisely states, “I don’t need to explain much. I already know myself and the kind of relationship I’m in. Those who want to talk will talk.”
In a parallel effort to address the controversy, Wycliffe Oparanya himself took to his Facebook page, posting a video emphasizing the importance of protecting his family and urging those spreading false information to cease their actions. Despite the uproar, he remains untroubled, having recently spent time in Mombasa meeting members of his own community.
