President Ruto has disclosed that he is now a grandfather after his eldest son Nick Ruto and his wife Evelyn Chemtai Some welcomed their first baby recently.
Speaking during an interdenominational prayer service at Nanyuki Stadium on Sunday, Ruto thanked the people of Laikipia County for giving him a daughter-in-law.
“Last year, we came here to pay dowry and I now want to thank the people of Laikipia, who gave my son a wife, because we have been blessed with a grandchild,” said he told the congregation.
He went on: “Perhaps my being early here has to do with that! So thank you to the people of Laikipia for giving me a daughter-in-law. Our family is growing.”
Nick and Chemtai got married in a Kalenjin ‘Koito’ traditional wedding held at Windy Ridge in the upmarket Karen area of Nairobi in January last year.
The invite-only wedding ceremony was attended by close family members, friends, and some political leaders allied to the deputy president.
Nick, 31, was admitted to the bar as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya in February 2019. Not much is known about his wife Chemtai.
Oh that hat is so ugly.
Oh that hat is so ugly.
Nick Ruto is a Kenyan to be…
Nick Ruto is a Kenyan to be emulated. This young man sold kachumbari to other students while in college in order to pay his tuition costs and against all odds, he graduated with a law degree. What is even more admirable is that he is not abusing “The Office of the First Son”. This is the Kenya we need.
