IEBC Kicks Off Diaspora Voter Registration in Canada and UAE

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has kicked off diaspora voter registration in Canada and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following the easing of Covid-19 restrictions in the two countries.

IEBC Chairman Wafula Cahebukati says the listing exercise in the two countries will go on for 15 days beginning February 1st.

In Canada, the exercise is being done at the Kenya High Commission in Ottawa, Kenya Honorary Consulate in Toronto, and Kenya Honorary Consulate in Vancouver. In the UAE, the registration is taking place at the Kenyan Embassy in Abu Dhabi, and Kenyan Consulate in Dubai.

IEBC commenced diaspora voter registration in the United States, the United Kingdom, Qatar, South Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and South Africa on January 21st.

The Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise is also ongoing across the country and is expected to end on Sunday.

On Monday, IEBC announced it has registered 548,188 new voters in the last two weeks against a target of 2,987,138 during this period. The commission also received 130,320 requests for transfer and 989 applications for change of particulars.

Only 800,462 people registered as new voters in the first phase of the exercise last year, way below the targeted 4.5 million.

    Diaspora votes?

Diaspora ni ya pesa! Ku&a wewe!

They don’t campaign in Kitusuru, Muthaiga, Karen. They HOLD meetings there!

They come to America to hold meetings!

IEBC is validating thievery! Diaspora must vote only if they have same latitude!

What of the Blacks whose passports are held by agencies in Saudi Arabia, Qatar etc.

IEBC I don’t need to drop my cum in your already pregnant uterus!

    Get your votes FROM all.

Diaspora is not what you have in your mind! If she can not vote in Saudi Arabia, etc, then that invalidates US “Diaspora votes ..toa kuma kwenye bongo!

I believe the reason why the anticipated target isn’t being reached at, is because they’re allocating a very little time for the registration exercise. IEBC should tune up their operations & add that extra time, for the sake of diaspora voters. More weeks would do.
