Police in Nairobi are holding a 27-year-old Ugandan woman over alleged drug trafficking.
Bizu Rubi Halima was arrested at a hotel room in Hamza along Jogoo Road in Nairobi in possession of narcotic drugs.
30 pellets of heroin were seized during the Tuesday evening operation conducted by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Police believe the suspect was waiting to deliver the package to her Kenyan contact. The pellets were carefully concealed as potato crisps.
The arrest came after transnational and organized crime detectives received information on the foreigner’s suspicious activities through the DCI hotline 0800 722 203.
The woman is in custody awaiting arraignment as detectives search for her accomplices.
