Soy MP Caleb Kositany has lost his position as Jubilee Party deputy secretary-general.

His removal was announced by Jubilee secretary-general Raphael Tuju through a press release on Monday.

“The Jubilee Party National Management Committee met today—1st March 2021, at the party headquarters, and in the exercise of its mandate as provided under Article 7(2) of the Jubilee Party Constitution removed Hon Caleb Kositany from the position of Deputy Secretary-General with immediate effect,” the press release states.

Kositany, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, has been replaced by his Cherangany MP Joshua Kuttuny.

Last week, Kositany announced he will defend his parliamentary seat on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket. UDA is a party associated with Ruto.

“I don’t know about DP Ruto but for me, I will be vying on a UDA Party ticket in 2022,” he said.

His ouster comes days after Jubilee vice-chairperson David Murathe indicated that Kositany would be stripped of the top position.

Speaking on KTN News, Murathe also hinted at a possible impeachment motion against Ruto and eviction from his official residence in Karen, Nairobi.

“About the DP [Ruto]… the eviction party of the hustler mansion is loading. That one you can take to the bank. Very soon there will be eviction from the hustler mansion in Karen and I can assure you it is loading,” said Murathe. He added: “We have the numbers to impeach him.”
