Oliech Family Seeks Financial Help to Airlift Brother’s Body to Kenya from Germany for Burial

The family of Kenyan football legend Dennis Oliech is appealing for funds from friends and well-wishers to enable them to airlift the body of his brother to Kenya for burial.

His brother, Kevin Oliech succumbed to cancer while receiving treatment at a German hospital on August 16th.

Kevin, a former Mathare and Thika United striker, had battled the disease for four years and was set to travel to the United States for further treatment before his death.

He also played for the national team, Harambee Stars and defunct Securicor FC, Nairobi City Stars, and Ushuru.

The family created a GoFundMe account seeking to raise Sh1 million to fly back to Kenya from Germany.

“Help me repatriate my brother home for burial,” a message on the GoFundMe account reads.

A WhatsApp message circulated on social media by the family says: “Hi, I’d really appreciate it if you could share or donate to this GoFundMe campaign. Burial contribution. Forward this message to your contacts to help this campaign reach its target!”
