Detectives have quizzed Nyeri Member of County Assembly (MCA) Eric Mwangi Wamumbi over the death of his wife.
Wamumbi, who is the MCA for Konyu Ward, was questioned for several hours at Karatina Police Station on Tuesday, May 26th, a day after his wife Catherine Nyambura was found dead.
The body of 29-year-old Nyambura was retrieved from Hohwe dam in Nyeri County on Monday, May 25th, a day after she went missing.
Mathira West Sub-County Police Commander Jane Nyakeroma said a report of a missing person was filed at Nyeri police station Sunday, May 24th.
Wamumbi, through social media on Monday, mourned his wife as the best thing that ever happened to him, saying she valued family than anything else.
A postmortem is expected to be carried out on Wednesday. Mwangi and Nyambura had two children and were living together at a rented house at Kamakwa, Nyeri County.
