Waititu Ditches Jubilee Party, Rejoins Kanu

Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has ditched the Jubilee party and rejoined Kanu.

Waititu, who spoke on Friday, said he has all along remained a member of Kanu despite successfully running for Kiambu Governor’s seat on a Jubilee ticket in the 2017 elections. He was speaking during a Kanu delegates meeting chaired by Baringo Senator Gideon Moi in Kabarak, Nakuru County.

“I was elected the chairperson of Kanu in Embakasi when the party was very strong in the country. During those days, being the chairman of a political party, one had to be voted for,” said Waititu.

“In Embakasi, we held a very big election, and I was voted the chairperson. As of today, I am still the party’s leader in Embakasi. There has never been any subsequent election to remove me from office.”

He added: “I was elected the party chairperson when President Kenyatta was also voted the political outfit’s national chairperson. I want people to know that I am attending this event today because I am a Kanu member. I have not lost my way as some people would think. When some journeys end, I choose not to lament, but take a U-turn and continue with my trip.”

Waititu, who ceased to be the Governor of Kiambu following an impeachment, also declared his support for Senator Moi and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

“Bwana chairman [Gideon Moi], I want to assure you of my support, knowing too well the party is safe in your hands,” said Waititu.

You won’t benefit much from Kanu Waititu. You should have stayed with the high prince of corruption hoping you can eat the corruption scrums under his table.

You should be somewhere in jail for misappropriating public funds. Theft@!!!! Oh my bad. This is Kenya where you can practically get away with murder and all sorts of high crimes as long as you are rich and politically connected. You can steal billions, commit murder, get bailed out the case languish for ever in the judicial system and forgotten. Yep, that’s Kenya.
