Chief Justice David Maraga made good his threat of boycotting State functions by skipping Thursday’s Jamhuri Day celebrations held at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi.
During a press briefing on November 4th, 2019, Maraga vowed to stay away from national events over what he termed as mistreatment and disrespect by the Executive arm of government.
“Unless I am treated with dignity due to my office, I will choose which of State functions to attend,” Maraga said during the televised address.
Maraga, who is also the President of the Judiciary and Supreme Court, cited this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations in Mombasa, where he was left to walk to the main dais through a sidewalk and failure by the Master of Ceremony to recognize his arrival and presence.
At Nyayo Stadium on Thursday, the front-row seat reserved for Maraga remained conspicuously vacant throughout the event. Senior judicial officers including Supreme Court judges and the Registrar of Judiciary also skipped the event presided over by President Kenyatta.
Maranga needs to close about…
Maranga needs to close about 3/4 of the courts in Kenya due to budget cuts.
Give the despotic duo and their electoral fraudsters supporters a real taste of their medicine.
They said they will re-visit. Maranga needs to give them a real revisiting.
He should stop baby-sitting that criminal enterprise called Jubilee.
Totally immature of a man of…
Totally immature of a man of his capacity – maybe a Mercedes Benz 600 V12 will make this rouge dude execute his job – who is very bitter a normal budget cut to save tax payers a few shillings has been initiated. Maraga should be FORCED to step down and all issues re-visited to lock him up!
You cannot stop an idea…
You cannot stop an idea whose time has come.
The colonial British government , the US and it’s allies should stop being a bunch of spineless pathetic losers who have all the money and power in the world but CANNOT afford to pursued people with intergrity to protect their so called INTERESTS.
Their pathetic and the pathetic ways are over. They should stop disgusting the world.
Even local prostitutes are able to convince honest men to marry them.
Super powers my foot!!
Should be forced to step…
Should be forced to step down my ass. What makes you think that only what your drunk wants gets… his way.
Maraga needs to be respected per virture of his office. No one is doing him or judiciary a favour. Time is long gone when chesoni would possibly leak moi’s black ass to survive.
Maraga is a drama queen who…
Maraga is a drama queen who has presided over a corrupt judiciary. He is starving for attention. Give him a pink thong and red heels on red carpet ? and all eyes will be on him. He has been busy abusing his office and inflating himself up
so why give him any respect? What has he done besides whining for more money yet can’t lock up corrupt stooges in government? Why do we have corrupt senators representing thieves in his judiciary? Why are these major organs of government i.e legislature and judiciary( Nduale and Murkomen + Maraga) not doing their jobs besides their usual blame game? Look at those three stooges…all lazy, empty heads running their mouths day in day out looking for attention while being controlled by the drunk at the top.
@my ass leaking Mukoya – you…
@my ass leaking Mukoya – you heard me right; very loud and clear! Your pompous boy’s ass – Maraga – need to be sacked! Do I say that again – yeesss, he is a disgrace to the judiciary and the country!! The celebrations were about the country and not about Uhuru! Baby tads by Maraga need to be put to rest. He presides over the most corrupt judiciary in the history of mankind. Did you hear that; hopefully you did! And for your information – Kenyans expect the Judiciary office to perform per excellence! Maraga is a mediocre performer and that office has been defaced by his Toto tads!
I don’t think attending…
I don’t think attending Jamhuri Day is Maraga’s mandatory duty.
The high court judges went…
The high court judges went to Sonko’s house to console him for spending time in the cells for stealing. They are all thieves and they should be fired by revoking their tenure. The judges are the worst stumbling block in fighting the war or corruption. Most of them if not all of them have a link chain of corruption related cases against the people of Kenya. We must call corruption out regardless of who is involved. Judges – Stop mocking Kenyans with you madness!
Mr. Maraga,with your…
Mr. Maraga,with your attitude I dare not call you Honorable.These celebrations are Kenyan,and dont belong to aparty,tribe, or some individual(s).
If your focus is to serve the country you,hopefully,and recognize what the event is for,you should be there,but if you want to be there for recognition,then you are there for the wrong reason.And thus not needed there.You are already known,and you also know who you are.When you demand recognition, you are now getting in to that territory of arrogance,and self grandizing.This is not apicture of aman of your status to have.
Think of how many people who deserve recognition that where there,and yet nobody recognized them.
If you truly are suffering from lack of recognition,please start your own TV station,or program,and have it shown all over Kenya,or the world…Iam ready to throw in afew donations.
Maina, you’re rant is…
Maina, you’re rant is ridiculous. only person who should be in jail is Uhuru and his mom, Aka corruption duo.
@Komen don of Murkomen, You…
@Komen don of Murkomen, You forgot to DP the high priest of corruption deals – Weston still sits on a stolen 0.7 acres of land as you play innocence with the truth. I’m not sure what kind of theft drug is the water that all of you drink in the RV that produces the biggest thieves in Kenya! Don’t be economical with the truth by forgetting that Ruto belongs to Kamiti m, and still has a case to answer at The Hague for killing women and children in Kiambu church. The ghosts of those he killed will follow you to the grave!! It all happened on his murderous instructions – give us a break; will you??
