Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) secretary-general Francis Atwoli says that Deputy President William Ruto’s name will not be on the ballot for 2022 presidential election.
Speaking during a fundraising event in Lamu County on Saturday, the vocal trade unionist says Ruto will not be on the ballot since the country would be under a new constitutional dispensation.
“In 2022, we shall go to elections to elect the president and you will vote in numbers. It will be a peaceful election because we will have changed the constitution,” Atwoli says.
He adds: “And I want to tell you one thing, William Samoei Ruto’s name will not be there. You can take it to the bank for free.”
Atwoli has not, however, explained how Ruto will be locked out of the race but says the new constitution will help kick his allies out of the government.
He has also accused Ruto of underpaying Weston Hotel’s employees, stating that he (Ruto) would run the country the same way if he is allowed to become president.
“Look at his Weston Hotel, he has employed all workers as casual. The highest paid worker at the hotel earns Sh20,000,” Atwoli claims.
Ruto is considered as a frontrunner in the race to succeed President Kenyatta and has insisted nothing will stop him from seeking the top seat.

This is not a propaganda. He might not be in the ballot because there may not be a position for executive President to run for. Changes are on the horizon that are meant to make Kenya a parliamentary democracy. In this case The Prime Minister of Kenya will be the head of government and leader of a multi-party system and the Executive power will be exercised by the cabinet(hence known as the government). Legislative power will continue to be vested in the parliament. The Judiciary will be independent of the executive and the legislature. The President will be ceremonial and most likely will be Raila Odinga. Three candidates stand tall to be the next Executive Prime Minister. They are: (1) Matiangi, (2) Uhuru (3) Ruto. Most likely it will be Uhuru deputized by Ruto. An argument will be brought fourth that Ruto is still very young and can wait for premiership. Ruto may also be positioned to inherit Raila’s ceremonial post while Matiangi will be groomed to inherit Uhuru’s premier post in 2027. The goal here is to keep Ruto out of executive position

Not that it matters or counts for anything but I used to be DP-leaning and imagined that the 2022 presidency was his to lose; but his lack of transparency has fazed many and is showing up in all manner of places even his own demeanor. There are a couple of things to consider;
One, not to despise those whose positions you aspire to ascend to.
Two, never to insult the crocodiles before you cross the river.
Three, moral liberty rather than self-preservation is what carries one to their destiny.
And four, not to play the victim because the Kenyan Wananchi are the true victims with or without your candidacy.
As for Atwoli, he is the right person for such untimely reality check message to DP and other who may be shunting in entitlements to the throne.
