Narobi Lawyer Assa Nyakundi Hospitalized Hours After Allegedly Accidentally Killing Son

Nairobi lawyer Assa Nyakundi has been hospitalized hours after shooting and killing his 29-year-old son in what he claims was an accident.

Citizen Digital reports that Nyakundi was rushed to the Nairobi Hospital on Sunday night after developing shock symptoms while at the Muthaiga Police Station.

The advocate had been detained on Sunday afternoon for questioning on the fatal shooting.

He was set to be arraigned in court on Monday on a miscellaneous application for police to request for more time to complete investigations into the incident.

Nyakundi says they were in the car when he shot his son on the chest. He immediately rushed him to Aga Khan Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

He told police that they were heading home from ICC Church on Mombasa Road on Sunday afternoon.

As he approached his home in Muthaiga North, he reached for his pistol to holster it but accidentally pulled the trigger shooting his son who was on the back seat.

Police have confiscated the firearm, which had 14 rounds of ammunition.

“The reportee who is a civilian firearm holder has been detained to assist in further investigations. The said firearm loaded with 14 rounds of 9mm and the m/v has been kept as exhibits,” police say.

The body of the deceased was moved to Aga Khan Mortuary awaiting postmortem.

Let me try to answer some of your Questions based on article https://www.mwakilishi.com/article/kenya-news/2019-03-17/nairobi-lawyer-assa-nyakundi-detained-after-accidentally-shooting?cid=h

In the previous News article, its said the Lawyer “says he was trying to holster his gun when he accidentally shot his 29-year-old son.” This means the Gun was not in it’s Holster.

For #5, the the same previous News article said “Kibagendi says they were in the car when he shot his son on the chest.”

For #6: Obviously the Gun was Not on Safety.

For #7, the same PREVIOUS News article said “As the lawyer approached his Muthaiga North home, he reached for his pistol to holster it but accidentally pulled the trigger shooting his son who was on the back seat.” This means the Dad driving his son.

  2. Suffered shock symptoms Bure…
Suffered shock symptoms Bure kabisa anticks of the elite in Kenya. Once they face the music like anyone’s else the escape route is admission in hospital to continue with their lavish lifestyle.
This case will go nowhere as learned colleagues are busy engaging the tainted judiciary in the backroads to scuttle this soap opera

  3. Most likely this is…
Most likely this is premeditated murder. Everything seems to be well planned. All the pieces are falling as they were supposed to be

  4. Oh well there is still time…
Oh well there is still time to dig out the nitty gritties. I hope they don’t rush this case. We may be so quick to pass judgment or jump into conclusions but that only makes us the ideal “court of public opinion”. And yes it’s possible for guns to go off, freak accidents involving guns happen all the time all over the world. In as much as I want justice for the deceased, I really empathize with this man. God! Killing your own child! SMH

  5. He is going to hospital to…
He is going to hospital to buy time for the “learned friends” to get access to the jugde, bribe him and when he gets off the hospital the deal is done, but your son’s soul will haunt you forever, and of all things from church?? Load a gun on the way home?? Did you suspect or see any intruder?? Come on judge if this guy not guilty then whoever judge decides his case should be fired. He is 100 % guilty, if given a judgemental position.

  6. Coming from so called …
Coming from so called “Church” with a gun? Sounds like he adopted foreign missionary ways of carrying a bible on one hand and a gun on the other to pacify Africans and to kill those who did not comply. The moral bankruptcy of these man made religions is on full display (Christianity; Judaism;Muslim: Buddha etc). Time to abandon them and become spiritual. How and why would anyone carry a gun to church?
Whom or what do you have your faith in ? God or gun? Black man needs to realize his blessings are not in the sword, but in his spirituality.
    Very interesting !!!
