Fake Kenyan Doctor Mugo wa Wairimu Wanted by Police for Operating Another Illegal Clinic in Nairobi

Police are searching for fake Kenyan doctor James Mugo Ndichu, popularly known as Mugo wa Wairimu for reportedly operating another illegal clinic in Nairobi’s Kayole estate.

This comes after the arrest of two of his employees by flying squad officers on Saturday following complaints by the Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.

Police say the two have been working at the dispensary owned by Mugo without the required documents. Materials believed to have been used to procure abortion were also recovered during the arrest on Saturday.

Mugo wa Wairimu was arrested in 2015 after a video of him allegedly raping a sedated patient went viral on social media. He was accused of deliberately sedating the woman in order to sleep with her.

The incident reportedly happened at an illegal clinic he was running in Nairobi’s Githurai area. He was also accused of masquerading as a doctor despite not having been licensed to operate as a physician.

He was charged with obtaining money under false pretense, employing unregistered lab technicians and being in possession of, and using radiation equipment without permit from Radiation Protection Board.

He was later freed on a Sh2 million bond with a surety of similar amount.
