Kenyans to Stage Protests Outside President Kenyatta's Office Next Week

Kenyans plan to stage a mega demonstration in Nairobi’s central business district and outside President Kenyatta’s office in Harambee House next week.

During the peaceful street protest, Kenyans will demand for prosecution of officials involved in the recently unearthed corruption scandals in government institutions.

Those taking part in the protest will first converge at the Freedom Corner in Uhuru Park on Thursday morning, before walking to the city centre, Parliament Buildings, the Supreme Court and end at the Head of State’s office at Harambee Avenue.

Organizers of the event; Buyer Beware Kenya, Her Voice Kenya, Spincord Kenya and One Billion Rising Revolution have called on Kenyans to come out in large numbers. A poster shared by activist Boniface Mwangi on Twitter urged Kenyans to show up and “take collective anger to the streets.”

“Active citizens have organised a protest on Thursday, 31st May, 2018. Meet up 8am, Freedom corner, Uhuru Park. Let’s take our collective anger to the streets maybe just maybe President @UKenyatta will hear us. #STOPTheseTHIEVES,” read the tweet by Mwangi.

The protests come after revelations of massive looting of public funds running to billion of shillings at the National Youth Service, National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB), Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF), Kenya Pipeline company and Kenya Power.

  1. People have to rise up and…
People have to rise up and fight for what is theirs. NYS for example has become the elections cash cow and all we hear are kaburas not the big fish. I say rise up and protest.

    • @mugikuyu. I second you…
@mugikuyu. I second you. Unless we start”frying the big fish”,things are going to be just as usual.Nothing will change, but if we start holding these big shots accountable for their malfeacance and other corruptions, you will see people start respecting public funds.
Right now as it is, the looters dont see anything wrong, but just an opportunity to enrich themselves. Its time they learnt that stealing from public coffers carries unpleasant punishment, and not worth the trouble.

  2. I am sick and tired of this…
I am sick and tired of this govt approved looting of public resources. The fake hypocritical angers that just a show while winking to greedy and heartless theives.

UhuRuto are corrupt unless they have a change of heart, corruption will remain. If they weren’t they could have allowed Kenneth Lusaka aka anticarcinogenic wheelbarrow or Waiguru to run in the Jubilee party and win. Maraguri of Mafya Scandal could’ve been transferred not rewarded with bigger ministry and puppet CS.

Corruption on kenya is sanctioned by UhuRuto and some of that root finds it’s way to their pockets and political machinery.

    • When are we going to learn?…
When are we going to learn? I just read in Daily Nation that there is a big scandal involving cheating in exams. Teachers are collecting cash from parents in order to by exam papers and expose students to them in advance.
So the fight against cheating has been just a smoke screen?Terrible. And these crimes are being perpetrated by adults. Therefore the youth will learn from them and pass it to their kids and the vicious circle continues unbroken.
Students dont cheat only on exams. They also cheat on age. There has been rumours that Kenyan runners who come to study particulary in the USA on sports scholarships, usually shave of their real age by at least 5 years. As a country we should be ashamed of these criminal acts, and punish the culprits. But this is not new.So what is the solution,I ask?Do we want mzungu to come and rule as again.I say this because,I understand during mzungus rein, these kind of crimes by wafrika were unheard of.Mzungu did not tolerate any nonsense from africans…>Where it racist or not, it put mwafrika in check.

  3. Uhuru is incapable of…
Uhuru is incapable of leading Kenya. Uhuru, please resign immediately.

Before you resign, suspend and arrest all the current IEBC crooked thieves.

Wafual Chebukati should be arrested and imprisoned for life. Why? He cleared the current criminals, thugs, and thieves (public servants) to run for an elective public office during the last election. They won after bribing the poor, hungry, and uninformed voters.

These elected thugs have five years in office to empty our national treasury as seasoned and extremely qualified national looters.

It is indeed sad to say that, one of the Chief national looter is currently bribing his way to be the next president come 2022. This man belongs in Kamiti Maximum jail for life along with his friend Wafula Chebukati.

  4. Until mwanaichi was Kenya…
Until mwanaichi was Kenya ajijue na ajue Kenya Ni take, there is no one else will change Kenya, the big fish has stolen all the health care money, when they get sick they fly overseas,Mr Mwaniki please, when they are about to fly organize people and demonstrate in the airport, block them from flying, tell them to go to Kenyatta hospital like everyone else,so they taste what wanjiku goes through,a resort of their stealing, may God see them.

  5. Has Ruto forgotten that he…
