Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) are at it again and are now inviting Deputy President William Ruto to their homes after reports that he was ‘blocked’ from meeting former President Daniel arap Moi.
On Thursday, Ruto flew to Moi’s rural home in Kabarak, Nakuru county in a private chopper, accompanied by Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut, lawyer Stephen Kipkenda and Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter.
He was however denied access to Moi and after a three-hour wait, he left. A statement dispatched by the former President’s media team said that Moi was undergoing a routine physical exercise with his doctors at the time of Ruto’s visit.
“Ruto, who was accompanied by Energy Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, Ainaboi MP William Chepkut and lawyer Stephen Kipeknda were welcomed and had lunch at Mzee’s Kabarak home.
“Unfortunately, this coincided with the time Mzee Moi was undergoing routine physical exercise with his doctors. Mzee Moi agreed to meet the visitors at a convenient time another day in the very near future,” the statement read.
On Friday, unhappy with Moi’s snub on Ruto, KOT launched hash tag #KaribuKwanguDP to welcome him to there home. Here are some of tweets we sampled.
