Tanzania star musician Ali Kiba is scheduled to wed his long-time Kenyan girlfriend Amina Rikesh in Mombasa, Kenya.
The ‘Mapenzi ya run dunia’ hit maker is expected to walk down the aisle in an exclusive function to be held in the Kenyan coastal city on Thursday, April 19th.
“She (Amina) lives at Kongowea, Mombasa,” said an insider told Ghafla.
“Wedding organizers have informed me, via phone, they are sending me an invite to the event, which should be taking place on April 19.”
Among high profile individuals expected to grace the ceremony is Mombasa Governor Hasan Ali Joho and other top musicians in the industry.
“Amina’s family has close ties with Governor Joho. Amina’s mum is a friend to Ali Joho’s elder brother, Abu Joho,” said the insider.
The Bongo flavor sensation will later fly back to Tanzania with Amina, where a second ceremony (nikkah) will be held in Dar es Salaam on Sunday, April 29. Former Tanzania President Jakaya Kikwete is expected to be in attendance.
Little is known about the bride-to-be, as the couple has kept their engagement a top secret and out of public eye.
