What has Githeri man done to be honored? Making a line holding Giheri in his hand is worth to be honored. If so everybody who queued for election on 8th Aug need to be honored.

  2. Who next for this award?…
Who next for this award? Mukimo man? muthokoi man? omena man? ingokho man? miraa man? murenda man?. BIG mistake. Bure kabisa.

    • Think beyond the githeri,…
Think beyond the githeri, mukimo, muthokoi or omens. Think about this great patriot committed to perform his civic duty come sunshine, come rain, even in an empty stomach. Heroes and heroines are made every day, not by the big things we expect. But by the very small actions within our means. He has demonstrated patriotism in the most basic way,

Wacha zako @Coach. This state honor has lost its meaning. Githeri man made a line like anybody else who voted in 8th Aug. He just caught the eye of the camera man. There were many people who were hungry on that line but were not recorded. There were some women who carried young babies, sick, disabled and elderly who voted on that day. A hungry healthy man lining up like anybody else does not make him a hero or deserve a state honor.

What a bad joke. Githeri man carried githeri to go vote. What was special with that? If the githeri had some nyenis that would have been a good balanced diet. Githeri man reminded us of the struggle most of us are going through to make ends meet. Kenya ought to be doing better but its not. Kudos to whoever elevated githeri man but for UhuruRuto to jump into the bandwagon shows lack of imagination.

I am actually peeved off by this! Githeri man honored for carrying githeri? Really?! What about the sick, disable and elderly who lined up in the cold only to have their votes nullified? Uhuru’s advisers are taking this honor business to another level. And whilst we are talking about this, what has Nkaiserry’s wife done to be honored? She lost her husband….in my books, she is wealthy and does not need to be endorsed like this. How about honoring our Police force who are always out in the firing line yet are accused of brutality, when the king of violence (Raila) is rooming loose? I expect Uhuru to call it as it is and stop his school boys tactics used in the past. Honour those truly deserving. Maraga for example, for standing up to the bullies and not succumbing to pressure. Honour our elders, the silent victims behind the unruliness seen in recent times. Bwana! BTW…where has IMARA gone to? Hiding? C’mon brother you don’t need to mourn in silence. Siku kuu is around the corner, so let’s eat, drink and rejoice. Told you not to take life so seriously as these leaders don’t give a toss.

Even as JP blood flows in my arteries and veins, some of these honors are way off tangent. It is important that we (the govt)recognize and merit exceptional performance for state honors; otherwise it cheapens the whole concept. It should not be based on showbiz or popularity but on heroic achievement. Now that we barely made it through a tough elections, we need to up the game for 2022. Raise the bar on every aspect of governance big or small. Apply the standards as dictated by the baselines, so that samoei may not face an unprecedented uphill task in ’22.

  6. Githeri man demonstrated his…
Githeri man demonstrated his commitment to the republic. That not even an empty stomach will stop him from carrying out that noble task, of expressing his sovereign will to vote, to elect a leader of his chive. People should look beyond the githeri and look at his commitment to our democracy. Compare that and one Rao who even boycotted to vote, yet he claims to be baba of democracy. Anyway as Kibaki said “if you can’t vote, you are useless” Now between githeri man and rao, who has demonstrated patriotism more than the other. Who deserves to be commended? You guess!!!

    • That state honor has lost…
That state honor has lost its meaning. This shows that the people who were picking those to be honored were lazy and incompetent. Bloggers, Hellen Nkaiserry, Githeri man have done nothing worth to be honored. It is a shame to give a state honor to mediocre

  7. Githeri Man is Uhuru…
Githeri Man is Uhuru Kenyatta’s “Mini Me”. Meaning: Just like Uhuru FRAUDULENTLY became President of Kenya 2-wice, Githeri Man has become Honorable 1-nce. IGNOMITY on both National and Local Level for the Former and Latter respectively.

Leave githeri man alone he is laughing all the way to the bank just for voting. What you should be questioning are the likes of Dennis Itumbi and Jackline Marebe. These two campaigned for Jubilee when their roles require them to be impartial.Just UK rewarding his peeps.

  9. @Anonymous, where are the…
@Anonymous, where are the receipts to show he is laughing all the way to the bank? He will have his 10 minutes fame and will be forgotten in a year’s time. Mark my word. Actually this is not about him, but about the way the government is minimizing the criteria for this honor. I remember there was a young guy pictured using a wheelbarrow to ferry his elder to vote. In my view he is more deserving of this award that Githeri man as he demonstrated the ability to put the needs of others before his. Githeri put his tumbo mbele… I am sure alongside him were those who lined up with an empty stomach and who wished they could afford a juala of that Githeri, C’mon, get real!

  10. This is an old post, but I…
This is an old post, but I correct a genuine error on my part. I meant Chebukati deserves an award not Maraga! Chebukati has balls of Steel. Maraga wanted ill placed fame and will forever be known for his misplaced judgement.
