Peter Kenneth Breaks Silence on the Current Political Environment in Kenya

Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth has finally broken the silence on the current political situation in the country.

Kenneth, who has maintained a low profile ever since he lost to Jubilee’s Mike Sonko in the race for Nairobi governor in August 8th election, has urged the Supreme Court and Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to pronounce themselves on the political stalemate facing Kenya.

Kenneth said that the recent developments in the political scene has brought uncertainty, which is an impediment to stability of the country.

“I appeal to each of us to act reasonably without inciting each other and show great respect to our nationhood and love to our beloved country Kenya,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

“I appeal to both IEBC, The Supreme Court and other Independent bodies to effectively decide and direct on a definite timetable to resolve this impasse urgently,” he said.

Kenneth’s remarks comes after National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga withdrew from the race, citing IEBC’s reluctance to heed to their irreducible minimums before holding the October 26th repeat election.
