President William Ruto embarked on a four-day state visit to the United States, commencing on Monday, May 21st, 2024.

Upon their arrival at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, President Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto received a warm welcome from the Kenyan diaspora community. The first day of the visit was dedicated to fostering health partnerships between the United States and Kenya. The presidential couple visited the main office of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where discussions centred around collaborative efforts in the healthcare sector.

On Tuesday, President Ruto’s itinerary in Atlanta focused on education, creativity, and economic opportunities. He paid a visit to the esteemed Spelman College, emphasizing the key role of higher education, particularly in the fields of science and technology, as a catalyst for attracting investments. Subsequently, he explored the realms of the creative economy at Tyler Perry Studios, seeking potential avenues for collaboration. The day concluded with a stop at the iconic Coca-Cola headquarters where potential investment prospects were evaluated. In the evening, Mayor Andre Dickens hosted a dinner in honour of the Kenyan presidential couple.

Wednesday marked President Ruto’s arrival in Washington, DC., where he was accorded full state honours, including a 21-gun salute during the State Arrival Ceremony at the White House. President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr Jill Biden extended a warm welcome to President Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto. Before their official reception at the White House, President Ruto had a meeting with former President Barack Obama at Blair House. The two leaders warmly embraced and exchanged greetings in Swahili, reflecting their longstanding rapport. Obama, who had previously visited Kenya as a Senator and later as President, expressed his appreciation for seeing Ruto again.

They discussed a range of topics concerning Africa’s future, including democratic developments, climate change, and peace and security challenges. President Ruto later shared that their discussions centred around Africa’s burgeoning youth population and the potential for innovation and growth that this demographic represents.

Netanyahu is a ICC criminal. Eliminating eye witnesses is not going to change that fact.

Planning Aiding & abetting ICC criminals is not African development.
