ODM Leader Raila Odinga has indicated his intention to make a sixth bid for the Presidency.

Raila, who recently celebrated his 79th birthday, will turn 82 in 2027. The Azimio leader sees his loss in the 2022 general election as a stumble, not a defeat. He compares himself to a sturdy tree that may be shaken by the wind but remains standing. Raila is determined to continue fighting for the well-being of ordinary citizens, as he believes the cost of living is still too high. His goal is to protect democracy and ensure justice for all Kenyans.

“These people are not following our fathers’ foundation and dream of fighting, poverty, hunger, illiteracy and bringing freedom and fairness,” he says. Raila criticizes the Kenyan government, stating that it is responsible for the ongoing deterioration of Kenyans’ quality of life and living standards. He censures President William Ruto’s administration for failing to fulfil its pledges. Raila made these comments while addressing a large gathering of supporters during his party’s recruitment campaign at Kwale Baraza Park in Matuga.

The ODM leader outlines his plan to eliminate food shortages and make healthcare and education more accessible. He calls upon the youth and women to join and support the party by registering themselves as members. Raila stresses that the ODM party has hopeful strategies for the people of Kenya, but these can only come to fruition if more community members become party members. He affirms that the party respects the rights of every person and welcomes everyone, regardless of their gender, religion, or tribe.

Raila emphasizes his enduring bond with Kwale and assures that the county will remain his stronghold. He encourages party leaders in Kwale to enact substantial changes to secure overwhelming support for the ODM party in the next general elections, starting from the MCA level to the presidential seat. Raila has urged the residents to hold accountable any ODM member who betrays him in 2027.

ODM Deputy party leader Wyclif Oparanya affirms that Raila requires substantial support in alleviating poverty and the high cost of living in Kenya. He conveys that in 2027, they will stand by Raila, and encourage Kwale residents to rally behind the outfit.

“By the looks of things Kwale has more challenges than where I come from and that’s why we say in 2027 we must stand with Baba,” he said.

    Ndugu Raila Juma Oginga:

It’s time to give up the idea of being elected president of Kenya.
Had Wafula Chebukati followed strictly the basic requirements of Chapter 6 of our Constitution, neither Raila nor Samoei would have been allowed to run for the 20221 presidential election.
