President William Ruto on Thursday committed to reduce his travel expenses by Sh500 million to support learners with disabilities.
Ruto revealed that the money saved from his travel allowances would be supplemented by donations from the Ministry of Education and the National as well as the County Governments, and would soon be directed towards the establishment of a ground-breaking manufacturing hub in Mavoko, Machakos County. This factory will produce assistive devices to aid learners with special needs. Ruto emphasized the importance of providing quality education for every Kenyan child and revealed that his government has hired a record-breaking 56,000 teachers this year. The Head of State was speaking during the flagging-off of motor vehicles for education officers in Kasarani, Nairobi.
He encouraged educators to create a conducive learning environment for children while ensuring that they are achieving the set educational objectives. According to Ruto, it is widely acknowledged that teachers can’t attain key learning objectives without the timely support of both their respective academic institutions and the ministry. He mentioned having received guidelines from the Education Reforms Presidential Working Party on maintaining accessibility, equity, and standards across education centres.
He emphasized the crucial role of education officials in shaping the quality of education, as they are responsible for maintaining high standards and ensuring the smooth functioning of the system through their supervision and inspection duties. Ruto foreign trips have recently gained more attention. The upcoming state visit of King Charles III and Queen Camilla at the end of the month will undoubtedly be a highlight of his foreign engagements.

This guy is making it sound…
This guy is making it sound like he’s doing us all a favor by “reducing” his tourism presidency!
If he spent all his time inside Kenya, and actually cared a little about the plight of regular mwananchi, he would end all travel, and stop taking a salary!
There’s no other president in the whole world who has logged in more miles in their first year of presidency than Ruto!
If you find one, let me know!
You would think we didn’t have reliable phone lines, Telex, Skype, WebEx, Zoom, etc!!
His travel budget would make an alien think he runs a country with the highest GDP in the world!!
