Machakos Governor Mutua to Launch Presidential Campaign

Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua says he will launch his presidential campaign this year ahead of 2022 general elections.

While making the announcement on Twitter, Governor Mutua said he will seek to “offer Kenyans a new way of looking at the world and doing things.”

“I will officially launch my campaign to be the next president of Kenya in 2022. I will show Kenyans that it is possible for a child to be born in the villages, to dream, work hard with a pure heart and achieve his or her dream,” said Mutua.

“I will offer Kenyans a new way of looking at the world and doing things. We cannot continue thinking and doing things the same way and expecting different results. Our Time Has Come.”

Mutua, who is currently serving his second and final term as the Governor of Machakos County, described 2019 as a tough year for Kenyans, especially financially.

“The year 2019 has been and will always be a year of ups and downs for Kenya. From the handshake, political stability and the BBI, many infrastructural developments to politics of corruption and serious economic challenges, it has been a revealing year about ourselves and our aspirations.”

“Kenyans have felt broke — business communities are hurting and the creation of jobs has been slow. The gap between the rich and the poor seems to be expanding. Financially, it has been tough,” said Mutua.

  1. @Mutua – Kenyans have…
@Mutua – Kenyans have literally been broke financially without much hope on site.

The middle income level citizens who own small businesses are having terrible times keeping those business operational. Fair business loans with reasonably low interest rates are a thing of the past.

The richest 10% are wiping out the 90% under the poverty line. The larger percentage of citizens feel disenfranchised because they are at the level of total frustration with the way of life in Kenya – everything have become very expensive.

The 90% category of folks are simmering like a huge pressure cooker that is about to explode because of general poverty and lack of a method to attain the basic needs of life.

The state of affairs in Kenya right now demands a seriously selfless leader who is willing to honestly look at the people in the eye and give them hope while continuously assuring them of urgent change, visibly seen and tangible. Kenya is in a stage where a fusion of President Hoover, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and better yet a figure like Obama are needed to initiate a “new deal”, a period of the scorching reconstruction!

Change must be something Kenyans can count on. They are sickly tired of empty promises. They are deeply dumbfounded of politicians who make scam-like promises but never fulfill one single promise once they are elected.

Kenyans are deeply disillusioned of politicians who see them as to door mats to be used a dumped. Kenyans are tired of a government system that never works for them.

They are tired of the rampant corruption which is choking our economy at a very fast rate. Kenyans are sickly tired of a political class which steals from them and one that ordinary citizens can never reach at the hour of need.

Do you still want to launch a run for presidency? Who do you plan to serve?

As a county governor, have you been within reach of the needy? What are your policies to move the country forward immediately after 2022 should you be elected president?

How are you going to fix what is broken? How are you going to initiate an manufacturing industrial base that can provide secure employment base to thousands of graduates coming out of the local universities?

Kenya has a real infrastructural system which have became a black-hole of misappropriation of funds while the newly constructed roads only last for merely five years? Public building are collapsing on people – do you think this is as a result of “Kamuti” or inadvertent short cuts by the construction agencies?

In developed countries – which many of them you have visited – US, Germany, Austria, Italy, France, England, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Norway, Finland and parts of East Europe, the road networks established over 100 years ago is still near perfect! In Kenya, roads that were build 5-10 years are requiring reconstruction! Here are many examples – Nairobi-Mombasa road, Machakos- through Wamunyu – Kitui road, Njabini – Olkalou road, Ngithunguri – Kiambu road, Kitengela – Athi River road, Nakuru – Eldoret – Kitale road, Kitale – Mugotio road, etc. Potholes, mini rivers, gullies are found every where on these roads!

I think we need to have Mr Muchiku to come back to handle the presidency of Kenya. Can you fix this mess?

What are your plans to hold road builders accountable?

Agribusiness is the economic mainstay of Kenya. America is currently feeding Kenyans in some parts of Kenya while milk, vegetables, fruits, tomatoes, potatoes, etc are being thrown away in Central counties due to unforgivable low produce prices.

How are you going to fix this problem for Kenya to avoid being the laughing stock of the rest of the world?

For a long time, the MPs are allocated the CDF funds. Part of the CDF money is given to the county bursary kit to provide academic support to the needy. The bursary funds are only provided to those who voted for whoever is Mr/Ms Muheshimiwa; leaving out the poor and the needy students at the mercy of the Almighty God. How has a Kenya stooped this low that the future generation of leaders are having surmountable issues even in getting formal education?

These poor kids are scoring very admirable grades to join quality academic institutions. However, no one seems to care about their plight and destiny as potential future leaders. Are we a hopeless country or patriots of the magnitude of the late Tom Mboya, JM Kariuki, Mwai Kibaki, old Jomo, etc are a thing of the past – where is the beef in the current crop of politicians and leaders? Where is the beef?

They kids are so frustrated to a point of killing themselves! Just think of a 13 year old KCPE pupil who scores over 400 points out of 500, and not even a local Chief, MP, Senator, governor who can call the child to tell him/her well done kid! You have done all of us proud as Kenyans!

I may vote in MP Babu Owino for president because he is stepping in to offer support in the hour of need! If we can have 10 Babu, I think we can change the face of Kenya, and some of its alarming issues. Me, I come from the school of thought called @show me@! I expect someone running for president to show he can get down dirty to help the needy. Can you show Kenyans that you are that “MAN”?

Do you have a solid plan to offer free high school education to improve the level of illiteracy in Kenya.

Yes, Kenya needs real change; change that all Kenyans can see and count on! Are you ready to offer that real and genuine leadership without leaving any one on the way side!? – every where in Kenya!

Well, I’m sending you these serious questions because you are planning to run for the highest office in the land to lead Kenyans, do great things with honesty, integrity, corruption free, fairness, and equal treatment to all!

Should you get elected to this high office, can you meet the challenges eating the Bedrock fabric of our country away? Hopefully Jeff Koinange Live can host you to tell Kenyans how you will fix Kenya! Best of luck governor Mutua!
