Opposition leader Raila Odinga has dispelled claims that he joined the government following the much-publicized March 9th handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday night, Odinga said he would have a title if he’s indeed part and parcel of government.
“You can call me whatever you want to call me; some people call me the former Prime Minister, some people call me the People’s president, some people call me the leader of NASA, the leader of ODM and so forth,” said Raila.
“I’m not in government. I am outside government. If I was in the government I would be having a specific title.”
“I’m a member and leader of NASA and also the party leader of ODM. I lead the party outside parliament,” he stated.
He further defended himself against allegations that he abandoned Nasa’s course by striking a deal with his former political nemesis – President Uhuru.
Instead Raila said his deal with Uhuru agreed to deliver Kenyans to Canaan – a nation free of corruption, tribalism, electoral injustice and police brutality among other vices.
“There is no contradiction. We did not want to do this to the exclusion of other Kenyans. It would have been us versus them and this is not healthy for a multi-ethnic country. What we are doing is not in contradiction with our original stand… We want to get the entire Kenyan nation to Canaan,” said Odinga
“We agreed with President Kenyatta that we need to bring our two forces together and then look at these other issues dividing this country.”

The Dynasties cannot deliver…
The Dynasties cannot deliver Kenyans to Canaan. They have had a chance and failed. By errors of commission and omission the Dynasties brought Kenya to the blink of war. What Raila is talking about is an agreement by the Dynasties to mutilate our Constitution so that, they (the Dynasties) can hold on to power after 2022. Their time is up. On the Handshake, one cannot uphold the Constitution he swore to defend and the other said “Constitution my foot”. Let’s watch the drama, as they bring suggestions about mutilating the Constitution from a group that is not constitutionally elected by the Mwananchi. A group that they (Raila and Uhuru) elected as if the Dynasties own Kenya by themselves. But this too will fail. Raila can take his people to the Canaan where he has been taking them for the last fourty years. Kenyans do not need Raila’s Canaan. The Dynasties ideologies and policies are outdated. Kenyans need new leadership. God help Kenya!!!
