Our Journey with You is Over, Wetang'ula Tells Raila

Ford Kenya party chief Moses Wetang’ula has vowed to lock out opposition leader Raila Odinga from the Western region following fallout that saw Wetang’ula ousted from the prestigious Senate Minority seat by Senators allied to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Speaking on Saturday, the Bungoma Senator said that he no longer has any relations with Odinga, whom he termed as a traitor, and vowed to never again have any ties with him.

Wetang’ula said he will now focus on advancing his bid for Presidency in 2022 following the endorsement by Sabaot, Tachoni and Teso elders.

“My friend Raila, I have no hard feelings for you but our journey with you is over,” Wetangula said.

“We are telling him (Raila) everyone has his home and his people. That is the nature of Kenya,” he said.

“I’m praying that our people and leaders from Western region will join hands to ensure that we speak as one voice so as to gain respect from other communities.”

The National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principal spoke at a burial at Mukhweya village in Kabuchai constituency, Bungoma County.

“We are no longer going to allow people to use us to get to the top and while there, they start urinating on us,” Wetangula said.

Wetang’ula and his Amani National Congress counterpart Musalia Mudavadi have hinted at folding their parties to form a single outfit for Western Kenya region.

“We are asking our people who are the second largest in population that if we want to be respected we have to come up with one political party that will unite all of us and earn us respect from our neighbors,” he said.

The senator said he will embark on a countrywide tour to seek support for his presidential bid. “We will go to Central, Nyanza, Rift valley, and Turkana and everywhere,” Wetangula said.
