Retired President Daniel Arap Moi has returned to the country following a one-week medical trip to Israel.
A chartered plane carrying the former Head of State arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 8pm on Saturday. He then proceeded to his residence at Kabarnet Gardens, his communication team said in a statement.
“The former head of state is in high spirits and his physicians will continue observing him. He has been given a clean bill of health,” the brief statement read in part.
Moi was admitted at Ichalov Hospital in Tel Aviv on Sunday last week, where a successful surgery was performed on his knee, which had been troubling him for sometime.
Accompanying him during the trip was his personal doctor David Silverstein and his son, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
He left the Tel Aviv hospital on Thursday after getting a clean bill of health from the doctors at the facility. He then spent the rest of the day touring some holy sites in the city of Jerusalem.
