Controversial 'Miracle Babies' Preacher Gilbert Deya Released on Bond

The High Court on Thursday freed controversial preacher, Bishop Gilbert Deya, who was recently deported back to Kenya from the United Kingdom to face child theft charges.

The televangelist, who is facing five charges of child stealing, was released on Sh1 million bond with two sureties of a similar amount after spending four months in detainment at Kamiti Maximum Prison.

However, the “miracle babies” preacher will remain behind bars until January 17th, 2018 after he completes filling his bond and surety documents. The preacher, who has been in prison since August 4th, was granted freedom after a successful bond reapplication through his lawyer John Swaka.

The court granted Deya the application after became apparent that the prosecution could not complete its case within the 120 days set earlier by court, as they have lined up more witnesses to testify.

Deya’s advocate assured the judge that he would be personally liable, should his client go missing. Deya is required to deposit his travel documents with the court and must report to a police station twice every week.

Deya, who had relocated to United Kingdom years ago is alleged to have stolen five Kenyan children between 1999 and 2004.

  2. According to Oxford…
According to Oxford Dictionary, a fool is a person who is duped or imposed on. A person may be a victim of circumstances especially when brought up in a christian household and that is all they know. When you get educated, learned or whatever you want to call it, it is your responsibility to do research, educate yourself, question and learn. Read, read, read. You become a damn fool when you follow a belief blindly to conform and fit in. Learn something and you will soon discover who the real fool is.

  3. The church as we know it is…
The church as we know it is a fraud, a joke and anti-development anywhere. Too sad the black people irrespective of where they are and especially black women continue to suffer worshipping the white Jesus memorizing scriptures written by the same oppressing colonial or slave masters. Some are child molesters and rapists, children thieves, while others won’t allow church members in the church they themselves built at time of flooding. May mwene nyaga have mercy on black people, open their eyes and bring them back to reality.

@Njoroge. You nailed it. When a fool speaks, he is ruining himself; he gets caught in the trap of his own words.

That’s right. You don’t need to even look far to see how the “sheep” or “flock” are fleeced by the “shepherds”. Just read about the Kiuna’s while in their flashy vacation to Australia.

And don’t get me started at how those catholic priests have molested young boys over the years; or how the Vatican celebrated Hitlers birthday every year!

Can’t stand seeing the Idol of white Jesus in many living rooms. Or celebrating the Pagan Christmas. Have you ever seen coniferous trees in Palestine? or snow? Such credulity and gullible, we are!

I would rather face Mt Kenya.

We used to believe in many gods. We’ve narrowed down to three for some (Trinity), and one for others (Monotheists). Still getting closer to the true number.
