In a new twist of events, former Wiper Democratic Party chairman and Kitui gubernatorial candidate, David Musila and Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze have poured praises on President Uhuru Kenyatta for his efforts to empower special groups, calling for his re-election.
Musila fell out with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has recently urged voters to vote for President Uhuru despite his party.
“I support Nyenze. Vote for me as an independent candidate, elect President Kenyatta without minding his Jubilee party,” Musila was quoted on the Nation.
Speaking at Kauwi Primary School grounds in Kitui County when Youth and Gender Affairs Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki launched National Youth Service Program, Musila and Nyenze said Uhuru’s track record was visible and asked residents to vote for him.
“If someone is worthy, vote for him regardless of whether he is an independent candidates,” Nyenze said.
“Enlightened voters have the responsibility to ensure that they are offered the best possible opportunity to thrive in their youth and to maximize their productivity as professionals. This can only happen if we have an ethical, conscientious proven leader as governor. Elect me in August and I will address these and many issues at hand,” Musila said.
Musila ditched Kalonzo Musyoka’s led party after controversially losing to incumbent Kitui governor Julius Malombe in the party primaries, and is now contesting for the seat as an independent candidate.
