President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday seemed to make a veiled endorsement of Peter Kenneth for Nairobi governor.
While on his way to the burial of prominent businessman William Murathe in Gatanga, Murang’a County, the president and his convoy stopped at Kirwara trading center where he briefly addressed the crowd.
While the president told the people make their own minds on their choice of leaders , he urged them to elect leaders who are development-minded. He also told them to pray for Peter Kenneth so that he wins the gubernatorial nomination in Nairobi. “Pray for this hero of yours so that he wins in Nairobi,” the president said, in reference to Peter Kenneth who was at his side.
At the crowd’s request the president then had Peter Kenneth briefly greet and address the area residents, who them to vote for President Kenyatta in the August general election.
Peter Kenneth, the former MP for Gatanga, is battling Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko for the Jubilee nomination for Nairobi governor. The nominations take place on Friday, April 21st.
