Wajackoyah to Represent Self-proclaimed Preacher Yesu Wa Tongaren in Court

Roots Party Leader George Wajackoyah is among the team of lawyers representing self-proclaimed preacher Eliud Wekesa alias Yesu wa Tongaren in court.

Wajackoyah will be appearing in court to defend Yesu Wa Tongaren against the accusation of operating an unregistered church and engaging in money laundering. Speaking in light of the arrest of cult preacher Mackenzie and Televangelist Ezekiel Odero, Mr Wekesa said that he will not enlist lawyers should authority arraign him over his church activities. He delved into the idea that his operations hasn’t infringed any law.

“I have spoken to Eugene Wamalwa (former Defence Cabinet Secretary) and other government representatives, but I want to thank George Wajackoyah for doing God’s work,” Eliud Wekesa said.

If I am arraigned, I don’t plan to have any physical lawyer to defend me but instead, my lawyers will be the sun and the moon since before God I have done nothing wrong,” he said.

Mr Wekesa has been in custody since last week after Bungoma DCI called him for questioning over his new church. According to the prosecution, the court should avail quality time to allow them to conduct a mental assessment to check for insanity. The prosecution conveyed that Yesu Wa Tongaren’s church has been conducting criminal activities in line with the cultic orientation linked to the Shakahola massacre.
